I cannot stand this book - my daughter loves it and it drives me nuts from the second she picks it up and it declares "it's nursery rhyme time". The woman's voice has an annoying accent and for some reason only sings half the song, the music and noises aren't as annoying but you have no way of controlling which you get. Fortunately my in-laws who bought it for her didn't supply extra batteries so when they run out we don't replace them for as long as possible - in fact we only replaced them the last time because we forgot how irritating it was! (it's OK for the in-laws they live 500 miles away!)
Your child will no doubt love it - if you are going to get it buy yourself some earplugs! >>More Details |

It is brilliant, I also cant have pets and it has kept my uni housemates amused! when 2 get together its so funny to see the moving/dancing and singing...I bought one after my 4 year old sister got one for her birthday, they are for all ages!

I bought a set of these for our 6 year old for his seventh birthday, and you know the story, the more expensive presents hardly got played with, but these cards I am not surprised that they are not dog eared (pardon the pun).
The cards are quite well made, not flimsy cheap card the printing and pictures excellent. Plus they are quite educational, which also helps, as afterall if the child is having fun playing, they sometimes don't realise just how much knowledge they have gained, but ask a simple question about one of the Dogs a few days later and you will be amazed at just what they have picked up. Our son was given this game for his fourth birthday. I had put it on his Wishlist because I thought the age rating was probably over-cautious. You have to match the dinosaur picture, skeleton, name or what they ate. After the party, the grown ups played a game which was a surprisingly long and slow game! Great fun, needs practice though!

From about five feet away the watch looks quite good, the detailing on the front is well moulded and it generally looks quite real and solid, indeed from five feet the watch looks as it does in the photograph above; don't be fooled this is the best it will ever look.
When you get close enough to actually touch it and pick it up, the cheap slightly shiny grey plastic creaks in your hand, belying the flimsy construction. The front of the watch is opened with a difficult to reach, loose fitting plastic stud on the top of the adjustment dial, which itself is moulded into the main body and does nothing, revealing the face of the watch, which conspires to be shadowy and difficult to read. This is well-made and looks exactly like Wall-E. Unfortunately, it is disappointing in that (a) it has a female American voice, not Wall-E's voice (b) The number of games within each activity are extremely limited and do not make full use of the range of numbers and letters. For example, the spelling game - where a child is asked to find the first letter of a word - contains only about 7 words, whereas you would expect it to have at least 26. (c) the display is very small, basic and monotone.
(d) One of the activities does not work. My daughter loves computers and loves the character Wall-E but has not had much fun with this. >>More Details |
