This toy was bought for my 6 yr old son. The idea behind the 'dig for hidden treasure' is good, but the 'brick' which encases the treasure is SO hard, it took my son, his friend and myself to smash away at it. We started on Christmas day, by pretending we were expert archaeologists, delicately chipping away at the brick, but after about an hour of nothing but red dust all over the kitchen we took the toy outside and started hammering furiously. The toy hammer provided was far too small to do much damage and the tiny paint brush (for brushing away the dust) was completely useless. (Beware, as the amount of dust produced is considerable.) Eventually we managed to knock off the corners of the brick, but were yet to find any treasure. By this ... Read More:

My 10 year old daughter received this as a birthday gift. The rose of jerrico is impressive, it goes a bit green then dries up then comes back to life ad infintitum. However none of the seeds germinated. The seeds are also very tiny and only have 3 or 5 in the packet so are difficult to get out and plant. It would have been fantastic if it had worked, but I don't recommend this project as is quite unreliable.
