Both of our sons love their Brio trains and track and so we thought we would buy a second battery train so the youngest could enjoy one. The other train (BRIO 33761 Wooden Railway System: Smart Track Engine) worked very well, was well designed and durable.
This train, however, has a flaw - the battery cover on the first train had a locating pin to stop the cover sliding forward and make it secure when it was screwed down into place. This one does not and as a result my wife cannot fit it at all and I have spent half an hour getting it to work. I take this type of equipment apart and put it back together again for a living and I can't do with this model what comes naturally with the earlier one!
Bad show Brio!

This is the first, the original Ticket to Ride game - and the most basic, so it is perfect for those new to the series to learn the rules.
You are presented with a map of the US and southern Canada. You are given route cards for building railways between cities. By completing the routes, you receive points, and the one with the most points at the end is the winner. Simple, no?
So, do you build routes north-south or east-west? Except your fellow players are also building routes too - and there is only space for one or at the most two tracks between cities. AND you need the right kind of train to lay on the tracks, trains that can only be put together from a separate stack of cards.

My eldest son was 2 when his Godmother bought him Thomas. He literally shook with excitement and used it constantly for months. Two younger sisters learnt to walk with thomas and use the box under the seat to store their precious cuddly toys. My youngest will be handed the torch in a few months and I expect a similar reaction to a toy that has stood the test of time.
