We always buy guide books for a place before going on holiday, and usually only actually make use of a few pages once we get there.
This book was different - it was accurate, relevant, interesting and a constant reference. We followed driving and walking tours in it which were accurately detailed and showed us things we wouldn't have otherwise seen/noticed. Will always look for books from this series in future.

We have decided that from now on we're only going to visit places that have a Sprial Guide written about them - they have become indispensible to us over the past few years - Barcelona, Venice, Florence and now Paris. There's just the right mix of travellers' tips, interesting facts about the place, good up-to-date information re opening times, prices etc. The maps are suberb (though why does the street we're on always land on a join?!). And the best thing of all is the SPIRAL!! - No losing your place when the book shuts itself, no broken spines, no need for a bookmark - Genius!!

I am not a great fan of spiral-bound books, but for a travel guide, this format works well (lies nice and flat on outdoor bar tables!). True pocket size.Sufficient detail for a "starter" book, it did the job for a first visit to the region and proved useful.

the book is a lot smaller than I imagined. I bought this for my parents trip to New Zealand but it will only give them about 1 hours reading on the flight. If you want something comprehensive do not pick this

This book will disappoint you and leave you very angry. Firstly it is quite evident that most of the people involved with the production of this guide have never been to the island. To say it has been written by the AA it has some of the worst directions I have ever read. The points of interest that are mentioned for each town are good but it is very difficult to find them, and as another reviewer states a street plan would be a very good addition. Some sections of the book are out of date and things are no longer there. Information about any particular place is spread over a number of pages instead of being in one place, due to this there are a large number of contradictions throughout, it makes reading the guide painfull. Even more surprisingly ... Read More:
