Very informative, and thorough - but due to the rapid developments taking place in Turkey, i.e. continous implementation of E.U. related laws, it need to be read with that in mind, and supported by recent updates, many available on the web (Tyrkish Embassy web site is a good source).

The information in this book is fairly comprehensive, but it has both serious and minor flaws. On the minor front,an example is one company lauded for its dinner tours no longer seems to cover Bruges so the information is out of date or just wrong. On the major front, the city maps have no street index and so are of very little use and the map of restaurants gives numbers to restaurants which are neither alphabetically listed nor area-based so relating number to restaurant is needlessly tricky.
Altogether an adequate guide book for an introduction to the city but not enough to rely on to get around without extra materials.

This is a brilliant little book - small enough to put in your pocket, easy to read, funny, full of every kind of information you might want, witty, well researched - and ..... I followed the hints on buying a Venetian door knocker, and saved myself about £30! Thanks.

This book crosses the line between guide book and tourist brochure. Its gushy text, whilst enthusiastic, is of little practical value. This guide could be useful if you are on a package tour and want to get a feel for the island. If you are planning your own trip, this book might be a useful adjunct to another guide.

..I've found this book invaluable on several trips to Cantabria. It's just so thorough - My husband is from Santander and knows the area inside out, but still finds this book includes places to visit that he's never been to. Dane Facaros and Michael Pauls have a very humorous writing style that is occasionally wryly critical, but usually with good reason! In all our excursions from Santander we've found the restaurant and hotel listings incredibly reliable. If you value good, intelligent writing as well as practical information, this is the guide for you.

We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight's holiday in Oahu and Maui and used Andrew Doughty's 'Revealed' books on both islands. The little blue book is invaluable at getting you to the places that you really shouldn't miss and we also found it a great way of meeting people, as others with the book would come up and chat to us at key locations! The Maui book seemed to be the only one that people used on the island (it was certainly the only one we saw for sale whilst we were there) which could make some sites a lot busier than you might expect, especially on the road to Hana. An excellent book though - a must if you are visiting.
