The book has everything you need to know about doing some off-piste motorcycling. It makes some amazing trips sound vaguely feasible. Even for more mundane trips around the UK and Europe it has loads of good stuff about selection of gear and bike. It has loads of good biking stories too.

This is the best camping book EVER!! I planned my holiday this year using it and I can honestly say that my family and I had the best holiday ever. We stayed in 3 different campsites and all of them were excellent!
We bought the book for some friends who were travelling around europe and they stayed in quite a lot of the sites - they did say that not all of them were 'fabulous' but alot were (especially La Ferme in the Alps which is our 2009 holiday).

This is a very comprehensive book and seems to cover all angles for anyone considering moving there (as we are). It's well laid out, good index and reference and is particularly useful if you have a family. Good contacts for those with young children to help you settle in, useful for housing areas, hospitals and schools.

I visited Peru as part of a trip around South America in the summer and took this book in my backpack. I found it to be the most valuable item in my rucksack as it told me about some great hostels, brilliant eateries, and fab sights. All the entries were very up-to-date, unlike some of the other guidebooks out there. It was easy to find the information I required and the maps were simple to use. All in all a great product.

If you're fed up with handing over your hard earned cash at the end of a very average or indeed exceptionally poor meal this is the book for you. Sawday's Pubs and Inns lets you eat out in confidence. This very selective guide brings to you the very best Pubs and Inns that England has to offer.
As with all of Sawday's guides this is a pleasure to sit down a have a good read through. Your mouth begins to tingle, then salivate and before you know it you're chewing on an imaginary main-course. It is an extremely well written guide, illustrated throughout, and the maps give an excellent overview of where these gems can be found.
If eating out is important to you this should be the number one guide sitting on your bookshelf. ... Read More:

Although I travelled just before a new edition of this book was published, I thought this book was excellent in helping me plan my holiday in advance. We knew we wanted to go to Thailand but weren't quite sure where - this book helped us decide based on not only things to see & do but weather condtions etc, which I found were excellent compared to many internet sites and travel brochures (which portray Thailand as one climate area, when in fact it has many different weather systems). The book was excellent and still felt 'up to date'; for example it helped us find the most fab little boutique hotel "Buddy Lodge" in Bankok which was exactly what we were looking for and never would have found otherwise. Also it had fantastic and accurate info on ... Read More:

This is such a cute little book! the recipes aren't really hi-tec or anything but it tells you how to build a fire and gives you checklists for equipment and stuff, which is good if you've never been camping before. and it's got lots of yum stuff i never would have thought of, like cooking roast chicken or this omlette with strawberries in. Theer are other harder recipes, but I preferd the easy, messy stuff which involves stuffing things on sticks! And barbecue stuff is well-covered too. The pictures look good but not fake, and the words are quite quirky and funny, made me laugh anyway, which i wasn't expecting. glad i bought it... might spur me on to cook a bit more outdoors instead of heading to the pub...

In terms of practicality, it's small and not too heavy for carrying around - but is still bigger than many other city guides available. The maps are quite useful although their scale can make a short walk look like a ten mile hike! The maps are also all located at the back and there are no maps integrated into the text, apart from one of the castle. This made it awkward as you needed to flick back and forth. Close ups of the most famous and crowded areas, like the Old Town Square, would have been useful.
Despite being published in 2007, there are some inaccuracies and the selection of shops, hotels etc. mentioned seems to miss out many of the more recent developments. It also often ... Read More:
