What is all this rubbish about Sofia Copolla! She gave a beautiful and enchanting performance and our sympathy with her character gives the finale its underlying emotional tug. As for the rest, a continuation of the previous feast - Pacino, Garcia and Keaton give superb performances with Al way out on his own as always. The subtleties of his portrayal of Michael are handled masterfully and contrast so well with the more flamboyant roles in his more recent work.

I first saw these films when they were aired on channel 5 a while ago but only saw about half of the first film, all of the second and none of the the third one. So the incentive was there to buy them, after what i had seen of them i thought it would make a great addition to my dvds. I wasnt wrong either. Though to be honest i couldnt see some of my friends either watching them or buying them, as these films aren't mindless action and explosion fests. They take time to watch, literally and mentally. If you really want to get the best from them, set aside a night where you can watch them in peace to soak up the class of them directing, script, acting and story. They are completely different to the more modern gangster/mafia films. The time is taken ... Read More:

Richard Gere in unfamiliar territory, as a devious and dangerous bent cop.
His character bends the rules and skims money from protection rackets, drug deals and prostitution. Andy Garcia works within the Internal Affairs (cops watching cops as they say) department and Gere's vicious, murderous reign is uncovered.

Of all the dvds I've seen that are collections of music videos this one by Gloria Estefan is my favourite because of the beauty, variety and originality of what you get to see and hear.My all time favourite pop video is here, the one that was produced for the song "Live for loving you" and there is also "Turn the beat around" which was filmed on top of the highest building in Miami for the Sylvester Stallone movie The Specialist, the lovely video that accompanies "It's too late" and several gorgeous videos of songs in spanish such as Mi Tierra and Abriendo Peurtas.Gloria introduces each song and tells the viewer about them in some detail while sitting in the comfort of her own house - the whole dvd has an up close and personal feel to it.

Alice Green (Meg Ryan) and her husband, Michael (Andy Garcia) are a happily married young couple, until Alice's secret drinking problem is exposed. Alice goes to rehab and when she comes home, she and Michael don't know how to act with one another without the help of alcohol.
This is a really good romantic drama dealing with the terrible ways alcoholism affects a couple and their young children. Oh, my goodness - that Andy Garcia can act and he's quite the dreamboat, too. He's so utterly convincing as the tortured husband that it makes me wonder why I haven't seen him in more leading roles. Meg Ryan, on the other hand, never convinced me she was suffering with guilt or shame or anything; her sunny smile and angelic face were always the same...perky, ... Read More:

Robinson once famously declared that he only sits down to write after his second bottle of red wine. Is JENNIFER 8 just the rambling, under-developed ideas of a drunk or a structured, multi-layer suspense thriller with many variables in play? I'm inclined to take a little from column A but the rest from column B.
There seem to be bits of "convenient" writing here, and Thurman stumbles about as if, rather than being blind since 14, it happened that very afternoon. Some plot points simply fizzle out. Where we suppoesed to conveniently forget the clues on the rubbish dump? There's so little character development that we're left not caring that the small town cops seem like mere automatons that jump to the right conclusions and don't want to tackle difficult cases ...
