I bought this film because I saw about 30 minutes of it 10 years ago on tv, and wanted to see the whole thing. It's 2 hours long, but you don't notice it.
Included is a bonus extras cd which has 2 documentaries, one on the making of the film , and one on Raymond Carver, as well as other bit and pieces.
As if all that wasn't enough, bundled with the 2 cds, is the book "Short Cuts" which has all the nine short stories written by Raymond Carver , on which this film was based.
I got my film, but also a whole lot more, so this is fantasic value for my in my humble opinion.

A white-knuckled "don't-let-this-happen-to-you" thriller that vividly demonstrates what can happen to a guy when he lets other parts of his anatomy do his thinking for him.
Manhattan lawyer Dan Gallagher (Douglas) has it all: successful career, attractive wife, loving daughter. So why not have an extramarital fling with a woman he met at a party while the family is out of town? Sure. Just a one-night stand. No harm, no foul. But there's something very "foul" about Dan's partner in crime, because blonde Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) may have all the right moves in the sack, but she also has an elevator that doesn't go all the way to the top. So when Dan wants to shake hands and part company, Alex will have none of it, and the table is set for a ... Read More:

I once had this film taped from the TV. It had different music and sceenes in some places than is in the re-released versions of today. The original version must have been the un-cut version (just wish I still had it). It has just come out on DVD on region 1 (USA) and hope (pray) it comes out on region 2. This is one of the best films I have ever seen. All the leading actors/actresses play their roles perfectly. The witty punchlines/quotes are memorable. If anyone has a copy of the original they don't want, I would be more than greatful.

This film was not at all what I expected. It was brilliant! From the very start I was gripped and following the story came easy. The title, taken from Sun Tzu's ancient book of philosophy, suggested a similar such film but that was not the case. It was an unusually interesting and original action movie, with both a serious, believable plot and an excellent twist. Wesley Snipes played an outstanding role as ever, with great help from Anne Archer and Marie Matiko.

RAISE THE TITANIC is a great film but it's ruined as a full frame release everywhere. All the distributors should know these days wide screen is a well-known and well-wanted way to watch movies and they ruined RAISE THE TITANIC on DVD by doing this stupid thing. All the time it's not wide screen I'm not buying it on DVD. I'd rather save money and watch the VHS copy that I have. Even though I bought my VHS copy years ago and VHS isn't as good as DVD, my VHS copy of RAISE THE TITANIC is still in mint condition as if I bought it today under the distributors of Channel 5.
It's bad enough MGM/UA keep releasing old titles in the full frame under Region 1. Those MGM/UA titles are wide screen under Region 2. From what I found out, RAISE ... Read More:

The film was average, but the musical sountrack was one of the best I have ever heard. The credit must go to the the writer of the score and the singer 'Lottie de Jong' (if my memory is correct). If anybody knows where I can get a copy of the soundtrack, please let me know?
