I must admit that I only saw this film due to the hype surrounding it. The idea of some demented doctor hacking off a woman's limbs to use her as a sex object is certainly an interesting one, yet the acting, writing and direction are all far too bad to make this film any cop.
The worst moments are when the film decides to descend into lowbrow farce, such as the infamous scene where Helena contracts diahorreah. The less said about this the better.
All in all though, poor quality throughout leaves this film without a leg to stand on.

Tombstone is an immensely enjoyable western. And this version - the Vista series / Director's Cut - is the best one to get. I ordered it from the USA and it came in immaculate condition in an amazingly short time; but what's on it?
There are 3 bite sized featurettes (about 10 mins each): An Ensemble Cast; Making An Authentic Western; The Gunfight at the OK Corral. There is an Interactive Timeline of the actual events as they took place, Director's Storyboards, an Actual Newspaper Account (which you navigate around to read in your own time), a DVD-Rom featuring the game of Faro (the game Wyatt Earp runs in the film), also a fold out map of the actual layout of Tombstone including the OK Corral, an Insert booklet and not least - a ... I cannot describe it at all.
Touching, moving, passionate.
None of these words do Titanic justice.
A TRUE tear-jerker.
The way the lead roles act is overpowering.
And the sheer terror of the sinking really touches your heart.
If you have not already, buy this film.
Please!
I'll buy it for you if I have to!!

The Last Supper is not one of the most well known films of the 1990s but it does stand out as a personal favourite of mine. It is an interesting concept with a good script and fine acting but with a moral to the story.
A group of five left wing students live together. When one of them hitches a ride home with a truck driver after his car breaks down they invite the driver in for dinner. When he eventually he becomes aggressive they kill him and trying to avoid police involvement they simply hide his truck and bury him in the back garden. When a while later they find out that he was himself a murderer, they are faced with an interesting dilema: Having potentially stopped this killer from doing more damage, how many other potentially dangerous people ... Can Tom Hanks do no wrong, not in this case because alongside Kevin Bacon and others he brings this magnificent account of the near 1970 disaster of the Apollo 13 moon mission into one of the most frilling and brilliantly directed films to come out of Holywood for many years.
Ron Howard (Ricky in Happy Days) won a deserving Oscar for this incredible film, the cinematography and script make this an especially memorable film.
Now the last Saturn 5 space rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Centre with Apollo 17s successfull moon mission in 1972.The launch sequence in this film is as realistic as it is possible to get to the real thing way back 35years ago even down to the control centre itself.
I saw this on TV years ago, but to this day it unsettles me to think about it. The premise is a small-town community who slowly lose all human restraint due to the effects of a microscopic amount of some sort of military nerve agent, secretly stored underground in the hills above the town, that leeches into their food supply due to an earthquake. Some people will find a few of the scenes surreal and disturbing, and they certainly remain etched in my memory nearly 20 years on. It also raises interesting questions about what humans are capable of if conscience and self-control are eroded. Definitely worth watching.

True lies is an action/comedy film that starts off like james bond but with greater emphasis on violence,it then treads into comedy before finishing off with hollywood blockbuster action at its very best, the film with that in mind can be divided into three, arnie excels in all areas.
True lies is a james cameron film, the budget is vast, the action exaggerated and it is all so frantic.
Jamie lee curtis puts in a good showing as arnies wife who is bored with the hum-drum of her life, arnie is a spy who never told her what he does and there is a comical showing from bill paxton who cameron clearly enjoys working with.
I havent gone into mass detail here but needless to say this is one classy film.
