1) the songs are awesome. "Gaston" had me chuckling away.
2) the animation, especially in the snow and the forests, is just amazing
3) you can read as much depth as you want into the story.
Unlike virtually every other fairy tale, especially disney stories, belle isn't a princess. She's not even all that poor. She's a middle class girl in a rural environment. And the thing that she likes most in the world? Reading. how awesome is that? she doesn't just fall in love with the main guy in town, she goes for the guy with the biggest library. Similarly, the one who really learns his lesson is the beast, for being mean to that old woman, who was in fact a witch. ... Read More:

I love the Prisoner of Azkaban.I totally don't have anything I don't like about it. My favourite bit is when Marge blew up like a great big balloon .Hagrids garden has changed in the Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm aged 7 (seven)

If, like me, you are an 'old romantic', hate growing old and are deeply sentimental you will love this film. While I have to agree that some of the acting and direction is a little 'stagey', the brilliance of the story, the extremely beautiful garden scenes, the realistic period costumes and the wistful and enchanting music win through overall. Having said this, I have to admit though that I came to this film completely unaware of the tale of 'Tom's Midnight Garden' and have not read the original book. Still, a film that has the power to enthrall and bewitch children AND make adults cry can't be all that badly done can it? As life goes by we all, miss something or someone, lose loved one's and yearn in some way for a moment from our past don't we? This film succeeds ... Read More:

These videos are brilliant not only for the quality of animation but for the insight they provide into middle English, the vestiges of which may still be seen (heard) in the dialects of the North East and East coast of Scotland (two places with which I have connnections). Perhaps by watching these videos (the middle English versions) you will be able to identify certain words/phrases which still exist in your local parlance. Fascinating.

Although often dismissed - usually by those who haven't seen it - the1979 version of All Quiet On the Western Front is surprisingly impressive and well worth a look. Originally made for American television as one of a slew of superior adaptations of classic novels by producer Norman Rosemont that also included The Man in the Iron Mask, The Count of Monte Cristo, Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, this earned a theatrical release outside the US and certainly stood up admirably on the bigger screen.
Unlike the 1931 version, this version follows the flashback structure of Remarque's novel much more closely and provides a slightly different ending (because it was a new adaptation of the novel rather than a remake of the Universal film, they couldn't use the butterfly ... Read More:

Another fantastic performance from Robin Williams, and the rest of the cast make excellent appearances too. The plot is strong, the effects are marvellous still, and the directing still leaves you feeling quite emotional at the end. There are some fantastic moments that are clever and indeed well done, but its the strong plot for me that makes the movie. A true classic film for the family!

First of all I give this a title a 5star rating for a few merefacts. First of all the animation is horrible as of todays standard, however back in the day this animation rocked. So out of respect I give it a 1star for animation. The voice talent was wonderful I give it a solid 2stars. The backgrounds for the characters was great I give it 1star as well which brings me to my final star, Story. The story itself should have recieved more stars however this is only on a 5star gig. So, so whoever thought, wow what were the jungle book animals like when they were kids, and Mowgli wasn't around. Well now we get to see it. I place this movie between my Jungle Book 1 and 2.
To me this seems more like a midquel. The show is based on Balloo taking Mowgli back to the Man village, ... Read More:
