VHS : Short Circuit [1986]

Short Circuit [1986]

starring: Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg, Fisher Stevens, Austin Pendleton, G.W. Bailey
directed by: John Badham
April 05, 2004

I must have been eleven years old when I first saw this film, and right from its oddly quirky (and gorgeous) opening music I was hooked.

The idea is not new, nor original. An experimental military robot goes wrong and escapes the institute at which it was built. The institute must then send personell to capture it before it causes any harm. Except that it's not going to cause any harm.

Strategic Artificially Intelligent Nuclear Transport (SAINT) No. 5 is inquisitive, thoughtful and totally unaware that it is a weapon. It thirsts desperately for knowledge, or 'input', and has a penchant for television re-runs, soon befriending Stephanie, a struggling young woman with a rampant habit of taking in stray animals.

VHS : Burglar [1987]

Burglar [1987]

starring: Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Goldthwait, G.W. Bailey, Lesley Ann Warren, James Handy
directed by: Hugh Wilson
February 24, 1989

This movie is excellent, fully of humour and packet with Whoopi's unique wit. She starts of burgling a house dressed / disguised as an elderly woman, he whole persona is amazing, her flat is like Fort Knox and the Police chase is the best. Bobcat's humour is simple but will make your sides split. Just wait until the end of the movie when Whoopi leaves Bobcat with the real bad guy.

Since the late 90's disney's 2d animated feature films are consistently disapointed, largely due to the fact of the 3D industries boom.

This film out 2004, at the time was disneys final 2d animation on the drawing board, as they decided it wasnt making money and to switch to only 3d films. Im glad to say they are doing new one coming out in a few years, but this traditional 2d animation is the true art of animation.

I watched this film as was quite suprised. It has some very interesting characters amd the story also was quite good. Not good enough for legendary status, but good none the less. Its about a group of cows who go on a quest to save their owners farm by capturing a villian to claim the reward, which would in turn ... Read More:

directed by: Hugh Wilson, Jerry Paris

This film is so funny, especially the way Lt. Harris treats the recruits like dirt, but the best performance was given by Moses Hightower, the tall black florist who turns over the police msquad car when another cadet calls a woman a dumb fat ********* (too racist for me to say). BUY IT

Police Academy [1984]

starring: Hugh Wilson|Steve Guttenberg|Kim Cattrall|G.W. Bailey
July 07, 1993

police academy, the first of the series and the best of the lot,a true comedy,a film that is always in the list of comedy greats,a film that introduced the world to some amazing characters who had great traits,we first meet the legendary blue oyster and the infamous music that time cant forget.
Released in 1984,police academy is another example of an 80s movie that worked then and works today, simple humour, yet a script that is crammed with worldly humour that doesnt lock itself to the time frame of its creation, that is the sign of a film that will spawn repeated viewings from generation to generation, well you get the idea.
The story follows a new law that the police pass where anyone can join the police, anyone at all,and that includes the legendary ... Read More:
