Can someone PLEASE tell me how I can get this on DVD?!? Its the best sporting video of all time - bar none - well, ok Once Upon a Lifetime about New York Cosmos comes close.
I've been (un)lucky enough to sit in dug-outs and manage in non-league & this video gave us a number of catch phares that were used on a weekly basis as we cruised the Suburban League with a young but talented side. "Les demand it..." was something of a favourite. "No, Nigel I want you to pass the ball..."
The refereeing performance against Holland is legendary - have there ever been worse officials?
If you are even half way interested in football - you MUST own this... I doubt we'll ever see a DVD version, so I'll have to keep ... Read More:

This is not only one of the best, but one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Neil Morrisey buys a motorcycle at a cheap price and later discovers it to be a vampire. It goes on a big killing spree and starts to dismember the public. It was also filmed around near where I live so it seems quite familiar. With hilarious jokes, gory fx and a great british cast including C3PO Anthony Daniels as a priest it is unmissable. Its absolutely great!

Even on her good days, Carol lives on the edge of sanity; she stares endlessly at sidewalks cracks, feels things crawling on her body, and doesn't respond to people. But when her sister leaves her alone for two weeks, Carol loses her grip on reality and goes completely mad.
Roman Polanski's first English language film is almost a silent movie with just a bit of dialogue. The action is mostly in Carol's mind, as she sees, hears, and feels the things that go bump in the night, fears many have felt at one time or another, but she loses herself in her horror. Twenty-two year old Catherine Deneuve also made her English language debut in the film and gives a stunning performance. Her fragile beauty contrasts with the ugliness and brutality ... Read More:

I stumbled upon this dvd and have watched it since 2 or 3 times. Its bleak and beautiful, with a soundtrack and pretty faces to match. Not a pleasant little movie, but i keep recommending it to people. The idea that we can go on, indefinately, whilst seeing the doctor and keeping one's faculties together - a hard enough task be it with the un-glorious peep show of Hollywood as the backdrop. I keep looking for the soundtrack, but to no avail. Perhaps I'd buy it in dvd format, and turn the contrast off, so as just to listen. But then I'd want to see Ivan's grin, and the pretty people, and the door closing, with that light fading out. Again and again.

This film is truly amazing. It may only appeal to people with a certain sense of humour, but I must be one of those people as I almost split my sides laughing. I was still randomly saying quotes from Zoolander about a month after I'd seen it!
As usual, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson make a brilliant partnership; they have a similar sense of humour so you can see that they are really enjoying making the film.
This may not be the classic, thoughtful and deep film that some people want to see but in my eyes it is the best film I have ever seen, and would be perfect for a fun night in or sleepover.

As at least one of the reviews in favour of this film came from the UK I thought I was in with a chance of being amused. I had thought that a film with James Garner, Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson in the lead roles would be very good but this is really a "ho hum" film. Some of the costumes and scenic shots are great but there is some very poor cutting, particularly in the bank robbery sequence, where it is obvious part of the plot has been cut. The comedy is not very funny and the script is pretty low level. I am very glad I watched this on my own and didn't persuade my husband to watch it with me. It would have been a shame to waste both our time. Don't bother spending your money on this one. I will be donating my copy to freecycle.

First saw this film at university film club about 20 years ago and have never forgotten it. Many will recoil at the unreconstructed neanderthal boorish beer-swilling Aussie stereotypes depicted, but others will rejoice in the joyously non-PC sentiments, expressed with paradoxical eloquence by a bunch of academics on election night. The election itself (mirrored in late 2007 by the ousting of John Howard) saw the end of Liberal rule under Malcolm Fraser and lends an extra dramatic tension as the evening wears on and closet conservatives in the party are unmasked. Exquisitely hilarious!

These two The Bill episodes from 1984 are extremely good. The characters are ten times better than the ones they seem too have in the show in modern times. The cast members then have some familiar faces in it, such as WPC June Ackland, PC Jim Carver and PC Reg Hollis. DI Roy Galloway is getting stress from Chief Superintendent Brownlow due to Jewish Restraunts being targeted to having bombs in them, turning out to be hoaxes. Brownlow wanted Sgt Bob Cryer to deal with the matter but due to Cryer having problems on the relief, Brownlow decides to have Galloway deal with the matter. Carver arrests a drunk who he latter meats in a pub and walks him home just as they walk past a restraunt that has a supposed bomb in it. Another hoax and the drunk Carver arrested is left out side as Carver ... Read More:
