VHS : Beauty And The Beast [Disney 1992]

Beauty And The Beast [Disney 1992]

starring: Paige O'Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers
directed by: Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise
November 02, 2002

This is easily the greatest disney film every.

1) the songs are awesome. "Gaston" had me chuckling away.
2) the animation, especially in the snow and the forests, is just amazing
3) you can read as much depth as you want into the story.

Unlike virtually every other fairy tale, especially disney stories, belle isn't a princess. She's not even all that poor. She's a middle class girl in a rural environment. And the thing that she likes most in the world? Reading. how awesome is that? she doesn't just fall in love with the main guy in town, she goes for the guy with the biggest library. Similarly, the one who really learns his lesson is the beast, for being mean to that old woman, who was in fact a witch. ... Read More:

VHS : Mickey's Christmas Carol

Mickey's Christmas Carol

starring: Alan Young, Wayne Allwine, Hal Smith, Will Ryan, Eddie Carroll
directed by: Burny Mattinson
November 11, 1996

The only real complaint about "Mickey's Christmas Carol" is that it only runs 25 minutes, which means the story gets a bit rushed. The rest, such as the idea that Goofy should play Marley, is just quibbling (Goofy has the height to make it work). On the plus side of the ledger is the on-point casting of Uncle Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer, Mickey Mouse as Bob Crachit, and Jiminy Cricket as the Ghost of Christmas Past. Historically "Mickey's Christmas Carol" was important for Disney because it was the first animated Mickey Mouse short in thirty years. Since these are the Disney characters inhabiting the familiar roles from "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, you end up with a winning combination of goofy humor and warm sentiments. However, you cannot ... Read More:

directed by: Rick Schneider, Roberts Gannaway, Tony Craig

I LOVE this movie!! It was one of the first Disney christmasmovies I`ve ever bought, and I watch it several times every year.

My favorite is "Mickeys christmas carol", it`s just the ultimate christmas movie. When Scrooge wakes up on christmas morning, takes a walk around saying merry christmas to everyone, and in the end where he delivers lots of gifts and food for poor Bob`s family, it`s awesome... :) I`m not that big a fan of the build-up around these short movies, mixing the new clubhouse stuff with old classics, but that`s such a tiny, tiny little piece of this, and it`s not THAT bad. "Pluto`s christmas tree" and "The Nutcracker" are also great classics. I think your inner child has to be well dead and buried ;) if you don`t like them just a ... Read More:

In 1966 Walt Disney decided to make a movie based on A.A. Milne's classic stories because his daughters had loved the stories so much.Walt soon found out the Americans were not so familiar with the Winnie The Pooh characters so Walt decided to break the film up into 3 short movies so Pooh could be more popular if he could build up an American following.Later the 3 films were combined to make this film masterpiece.Walt did perfect casting.Sterling Holloway IS Winnie The Pooh.Paul Winchell IS Tigger.John Fiedler IS Piglet.Junius Matthews IS Rabbit. All these actors did their characters perfectly.Sterling Holloway (Kaa in The Jungle Book) used his timeless amusing talent on Pooh.Paul Winchell (Dick Dastardly in Wacky Races) does brilliantly as Tigger.Character actor ...
