The Lion King is my all time favourite disney film, i just love the story the music and the way it all comes together. I have watched this film countless times and still want to watch it again. The newer disney films are in comparison rubbish to the lion king its such a big hit,so gripping and i have looked in countless shops for it and to no luck. There are a million and one copies of 101 dalmations,Aladdin but no Lion King because no1 wants to part with it, its a Quality film that i will love forever.

Director John McTiernan gives us yet another techno thriller: THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. Sean Connery (whose Russian is too Scottish) plays Captain Marko Ramius, a much decorated Russian commander who navigates his submarine towards America in an attempt to defect. Soviet intelligence tells the Americans that Ramius went mad and plans to launch nuclear missiles at the United States. Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin in his major film acting debut), a brainy CIA analyst, believes otherwise: American spies have determined that the submarine is powered by a secret, silent engine called a "caterpillar drive."
To save the Soviet submarine for prying western eyes, meanwhile avoiding a nuclear war, Ryan must board the Red October to assist Captain ... Read More:

"In the days after it first opened in early 1964, Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove" took on the enchanted aura of a film that had gotten away with something. Johnson was in the White House, the Republicans were grooming Goldwater, both sides took the Cold War with grim solemnity, and the world was learning to be comfortable with the term "nuclear deterrent," which meant that if you blow me up, I'm gonna blow you up, and then we'll all be dead. "Better dead than Red," some said. Others said the opposite. The choice was not appealing. The Bomb overshadowed global politics. It was a kind of ultimate hole card in a game where the stakes were life on earth." Roger Ebert
...not that NORBIT rubbish!
- Golden Child? Great
- Dr Doolittle(s)? No probs
- Daddy Day Care? Good
- 48 Hours and BHills Cop aren't my cup-of-tea but are classic Murphy.
- COMING TO AMERICA is the best!
- NORBIT is far and away the closest to 'Donkey' that Eddie Murphy has come to (and that says something considering he voiced 'Donkey' in the Shrek films which were great!)
If you like Eddie Murphy, watch Coming To America again - do not watch Norbit! And if you're reading this after watching Murphy in Norbit and liked it (shudder!) then don't watch this because it is a completely different actor!!!

This was published by Pocket Money Video, a Braveworld imprint; the animation is 1st class, and the cast list would grace a really top-flight movie for grown-ups! Plus the cast obviously enjoyed making the film... It's a glorious, rollicking spoof of the James Bond school of spy thriller, featuringamong others a six foot tall frog, on secondment to MI5, and the Loch Ness Monster. Enjoy- I know I have...

Touching and subtle film about the entertwining fates of a group of soldiers and their families and friends, with a real human touch. Deftly handled subjective views reflecting the 60's personal values in the era of the Vietnam War.
Coppola doesn't let the film descend in to patriotic mush, but handles beautifully the characters as they form a family of the likeminded with different views. In many ways this was a trip down memory lane, reminding of many a young soldier I have met. This film is a fine tribute to the memory of their youthful eagerness and the meaning of life as it unfolds in the choices made for and by them.
This is a fast-paced though predictable thriller but never becomes dull because of good acting by harrison ford, anne archer, sean bean and the other cast members. The action is realistic and doesn't rely too heavily on special effects.Worth watching once.

Everybody can remember the original 1977 Star Wars, and this is it, but made a lot better! For Star Wars' 20th Anniversary, George Lucas has digitally remastered it, changed it and made the sound quality better and made it look a lot more realistic with all the CGI they have added. A great film made greater. I own it, and I think you should buy it. It adds to an already great film collection.
