The Lion King...deep,moving,inspirational,and beautiful...not to mention hilarious too.
artistic and wonderful...an aweinspiring Disney classic.
my #1 favourite Disney film of all time.
the songs range from hilarious to moving.
the artwork is at its very, very best and shows the sheer beauty of Africa...and the animals of the wild look so very realistic.
its an incredible masterpiece of a film...and demands more than 100 viewings.
a sheer beautiful class act from the Disney studios...and by far the most breathtaking film i have ever seen.

I especially enjoyed the first two hauntingly beautiful episodes that are set among the "dreaming spires" of Oxford and the dreamy palazzi along the Canal Grande of Venice. Although initially I found the dynamic between Charles and Sebastian (the young Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews respectively) to be the most interesting, by the time I had arrived at the later episodes (and there are thirteen of them), I was wholly captivated by all the characters. I did not want the series to end.
The magic can be attributed to the fine production values--the stunning settings (some of the later scenes were shot in first class aboard the Cunard liner, Queen Elizabeth II) and rich vintage costumes, the evocative trumpets of the musical score, ... Read More:

Great album with all my favourite tracks. How disappointed I was though with the revamped new vocal for Wuthering Heights. It was overproduced too much backing and Kate's voice dare I say did sound rather tinny and harsh.
The rest of the tracks are super Cloudbusting is great and all my old favourites.
I must track down the original wuthering Heights as I have them all on vinyl but not CD.

The plus: The movie is pleasantly filmed in a beautiful setting of country houses in rural Italy; unconventionally overt display of sexual relationship and naturist display; true love triumphed and rewarded in the end with the joyful first-times.
The minus: flawed script, unfocused story where the journey of discovering the identity of father and resuming of youthful love is distracted to an explicit and needless anecdotes of naturist playing, love-making and sexual mind games. It is unconvincing and has little reality touch. There is also a myriad of strange yet underdeveloped characters. Directors seems could not decide on following a core storyline and instead packed the movie with large quantity of sub plots and supporting characters. ... Read More:

Maybe it all depends on your expectations, but having read all the reviews here, I felt the need to say something more positive. Yes, there maybe faults, but I still thing this movie is far better than many other game-made-into-movie attempts (Mortal Combat or Doom for example). It's not like the games, in fact, which I believe to be an advantage. But it's fantasy, it's got the different races and some weirder creatures (I quite like the Beholder), it's got good looking actors (maybe not the dwarf), some battles and some romance. It's not a character drama if you're looking for it, but serves well enough for some light Sunday morning family entertainment.

I don't know whether I've ever watched a film in which I identified more with all the characters than I did in this emotionally wrenching masterwork from the late, great Louis Malle. It is part of the genius of Malle to, like Shakespeare, make every character real and to see and present the depth of even those slightly off stage.
