This is the best film ever but try as I might I can not get hold of it for region 2. If anyone knows where or how I can find this film to play on my DVD player, here in England, I would be grateful.
Same goes for "My Beautiful Son" AKA "Strange Relations" in the American market.

A thoroughly enjoyable drama,Anita Dobson and Leslie Grantham make such a believable couple as Terry and Sam Green. It's hard to remember they are not Angie and Den, the roles which made them famous household names! Superb acting by both. The story is good and keeps you glued until the nice twist at the end. This drama does not flag half-way through, like some. Gripping stuff, and well worth the money.

Watch your Stern, could be a Carry Film. It has many of the regulars in, i.e. Kenneth Connor (who is outstanding!), Joan Sims, Sidney James etc.
Well worth buying if like me you enjoy a good British Comedy. Being in black and white this film has an 'atmosphere' that a colour versin would not.

The Public Enemy is dated, a little corny, with dialogue that now seems full of cliches...one of those movies that some who disdain "old" movies might point to as how over-rated "old" movies can be. But I challenge anyone who has the least appreciation for solid direction and great acting to watch this movie and not quickly get beyond all that and become immersed in the film. William Wellman, one of the great American directors, has constructed a movie that just keeps moving, with startling set pieces, wonderful photography and a visual narrative that matches the story. James Cagney, in the role that made him a major star, completely dominates the screen. He gives a performance of magnetic ruthlessness, casual yet precise physicality, and just plain contemptuous anger. ... Read More:

Gary Cooper was 40 years old when he made "Sergeant York," and his Southern accent is weak at best, but those things do not end up detracting all that much from his performance or this film. Directed in 1941 by Howard Hawks, "Sergeant York" has strong propagandistic elements. A whiskey-drinking hell-raiser, Alvin C. York undergoes a religious conversation when lighting strikes his gun and almost kills him. His goal in life becomes getting himself a piece of bottom land so he can propose to Gracie Williams (Joan Leslie). Things go against him, but Alvin holds his temper and does what the Good Book tell him to do. Then World War I breaks out and Alvin is drafted. Unable to get status as a conscientious objector because of his religious beliefs, Alvin has to come to terms with ... Read More:

Carry On Nurse saw the series hit the jackpot with this proving an enormous box office suucess in the U.S.A where it ran in some cinemas for an astounding 2 and a half years! Whilst some firmly regard this as one of the best of the entire series, it has to be said that this film has nothing on some of the later medical entries such as Doctor (1967) (even though that was a virtually an updated remake of Nurse), Again Doctor (1969) and Matron (71). The film develops at a leisurley pace and has no real back bone of a plot. Hattie Jaques plays the no-nonsense Matron which would become something of her trademark in the series, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Connor and Leslie Phillips are amongst the patients and Joan Sims makes her debut apperance in a Carry On film (who would ...
