The Video cover shown is NOT for the animated version described - it is for the film (not animated) version of the Walt Disney film circa 1950? The film was a 'classic' starring Richard Todd, Joan Rice, Peter Finch and Hubert Gregg. I have seen it many times and have the VHS version as shown on your site. I had trouble finding a copy!

Along with Robin Hood, this is my favourite Disney film (and probably has made me love foxes for life! :p). The plot is fantastic - I may have only been 5 when I first saw it but it still keeps me engaged now, 10+ years later.
Unlike Robin Hood, however, it has about four scenes where I cry; forget Bambi, this film has potential to be a true weepy when you're involved in it enough! Start to care about the main characters (Todd and Copper) and it's a never ending spiral.

This is a brillant sequal to Pokemon the first movie: Mewtwo Strikes back. Mewtwo and his fellow clones have left New Island to live in a secret but now Giovanni, the creater of Mewtwo, and Team rocket (including a new member name Domino also known as 009 or the black Tulip) have found Mewtwo in a remote area of the Johto region. Naturally Ash, Misty and Brock have discovered Mewtwo's excistance but don't remember anything from New Island (no one remembers because their memories were erased, except Giovanni). For once Jesse, James and Meowth battle against their other team rocket members and eventually all the rockets memories are erased (except Jesse, James and Meowth's) but this time Ash, Misty and Brock remember. Then the gang set off, Ash, Misty and ... Read More:

I can't say I was terribly impressed by this. I have never been much of a fan of Winne the Pooh, but this being such an...English....series of books, the American accents of all the characters in this Disney animation (bar Christopher Robin, who only puts in an appearance during the last two minutes of the film) soon began to grate. I'm sure this point has been complained about by many people many times before, but it is startlingly annoying. I'm sure the kids won't notice, but if you have to watch it with them - you might.
That said real reason I am writing this review is that I was absolutely astonished by the 'disaster movie' ending of this film - in which everyone is flung about during an avalanch which stikes a collapsing pine tree. I ... Read More:

On balance, this DVD is worth buying and my 18 month old daughter loves it. The storyline has elements that are taken directly from the original books, the feel is Pooh-like and there are no native American animals added to make the numbers up.
The trouble is, you cannot ignore the awful soundtrack. A couple of the songs are from the books, 'The More It Snows', 'Sing Ho for the Life of a Bear', but there are some that Carly Simon has made-up. Worse still, she sings them. Worst of all, she makes a self-indulgent personal appearance at the end, strutting around with her teeth, trying to look cool and sexy but failing miserably. This is quite inappropriate for a children's film, and utterly unnecessary. What exactly she feels she adds to this is ... Read More:

I love this film. It's in my top ten favourite films ever?
Why? Because it is full of drama. Because the script is among the finest ever written (it started life as a play). Because the acting is Top notch (Henry Fonda is absolutely 100% believable). Because the twists and turns of the emotions of the jurors is superb.
There are so few films made with such intelligent and succinct scripts - I love this film to bits and hold my hat off to all who were involved in its making. If you haven't seen it yet. Do so. You won't regret it.
