The Lion King...deep,moving,inspirational,and beautiful...not to mention hilarious too.
artistic and wonderful...an aweinspiring Disney classic.
my #1 favourite Disney film of all time.
the songs range from hilarious to moving.
the artwork is at its very, very best and shows the sheer beauty of Africa...and the animals of the wild look so very realistic.
its an incredible masterpiece of a film...and demands more than 100 viewings.
a sheer beautiful class act from the Disney studios...and by far the most breathtaking film i have ever seen.

The family (mum, dad, daughter 10, son 8) saw this at the cinema and really enjoyed it. Its works well on the small screen as well and has quite a serious storyline, although to be honest the kids have only watched it a few times, so perhaps try renting as well - they prefered to watch their many hours of TV Wild Thornberry episodes on video instead, as there is far more variety (and even I enjoy watching them). However this is a very successful movie translation with a strong conservationist story. It's not unlike Tarzan really with it's England public school sequences. Your children would probably appreciate the film more if they are familiar with the TV series (but then they will have probably seen it already). Unfortunately the TV series ... Read More:

I first saw this film in 1999 I loved it.The first thing that grabbed my attention was the 3 brothers and their relationship throughout the film and how it changes. The storyline about the youngest brother marshall was great. The film is like an adventure story, the type you would of loved to have gone on! Traveling, being young, free and inexperienced at almost everything. Its a bit like a coming of age film, finding yourself etc. This all sounds heavy but its not,the film is filled with humour from the brothers and all the other characters, the animals are great and some even get in on the humour too.The music even grabs me,the whole thing is a feel good factor of a film, one I would recommend anyone watching of any age.

Although mainly seen as a puppet in animatronic form, former Home Improvement star Jonathan Taylor Thomas delivers a stunning performance as the marionette who dreamed of being real. Jonathan's performance is far from being wooden.
What makes this film even more enjoyable is the attention to detail - even the puppet looks like Jonathan.
Whether you're eight or eighty, you'll love this live action interpretation of the classic story.

Starring Farrah Fawcett Majors (Sandy, the divorced mom), Chevy Chase (Jack, the hot shot lawyer boyfriend/fiance who moves in with the divorced mom) and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (son, Ben, who has unresolved feelings of abandonment due to his real dad, suddenly and unexpectedly without remorse, having left him and his mom). The film is a classic comedy where Ben does what he can to test the new "dad-to-be". In fact, his whole plan is to drive Jack out of his mom's life. The fact is ... his plan backfires.
Jack does whatever it takes to win Ben over. He even joins the Indian scouts, a group in which Ben feigns interest, which he expects will send Jack over the edge. Surprisingly, it has the opposite effect, Ben ends up looking ... Read More:

The DVD has good and poor points in and against it. First the good ones: the thriller is well conceived. Placing Hamlet in the present days is quite well achieved and the story is well paced. Acting is ok (for a thriller it is sufficient). So you are bound to follow the film with interest. Picture quality is clear in 4:3 ratio image. The poor items are: sound is only in stereo, the extra features are almost non existent (only a trailler is available) and there are no subtitles (I consider that at least English subtitles should be a "must" in any DVD, preferably for earing impaired).
