VHS : Dennis [1993]

Dennis [1993]

starring: Walter Matthau, Mason Gamble, Joan Plowright, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson
directed by: Nick Castle
August 01, 1994

After my young son watched this film twice in one day I decided to watch with him, at the third showing!. `Dennis` is so typical of all children at that age, and I could see what my son found so amusing as he would tend to do the same things given half the chance. Having a bad guy also helped to keep the story going. For us adults though, Walter Matthau proves to be a real comic genius. Think of `Home Alone` but without Macaulay Culkin, thank goodness!.

VHS : Back To The Future - Part 3 [1990]

Back To The Future - Part 3 [1990]

starring: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas F. Wilson, Lea Thompson
directed by: Robert Zemeckis
July 01, 1999

This film is very bad. Back to the future 1&2 are the best films ever but 3 is really not good. A scientist is not like a scientist here. This film is not a comedy or something else, it is a romantic film and I dont like it. Dont buy it, but buy 1&2 or trilogy box.

From the very first time I watched Space Camp when I was about 10 I have loved it. How they all come together and work as a team once they get into space is great. It is definately worth watching if you like a feel good movie.

VHS : Red Dawn [1984]

Red Dawn [1984]

starring: Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen, Darren Dalton
directed by: John Milius
February 01, 2000

I cant reccommend Red Dawn enough.Easily the most laughable film ever made.Shocking propaganda and hilariously cheesey and wooden performances from all invovled.Frighting that it was ever supposed to be taken seriously.Patricks "tormented" Lawerance of Arabia leader type character is worth the asking price alone. The film is constant throughout with each scene just as absurd and humourous as the preceeding one.A true classic, fun for all the family.10/10

VHS : Substitute Wife

Substitute Wife

starring: Farrah Fawcett, Peter Weller, Lea Thompson
directed by: Peter Werner
September 30, 1996

This film fascinated me. Settlers on an isolated piece of land away from everyone they know. Working up to 18 hours a day the couple have built up a way of life on their farm. Their hopes and dreams are about to be shattered because the wife is terminally ill and has been given the news that soon she will die. The relationship between them, which at first seems so clear cut and male dominated, starts to develop. She threatens her husband that if he splits up the family she will haunt him! She offers to find him a replacement wife and the story unfolds from there. I was moved to tears by the wife's frustration with her failing health and her determination to sort the situation out as best she could. It is an excellent story.
