For any dancer this is brilliant!!!!! The characters are cleverly developed, showing dancers of different abilities, shapes and sizes! Liza minelli portrays Mavis who has been let down by the west end - yet finds a new career in teaching dance. Its a must see!

VHS : Frank, Liza & Sammy - The Ultimate Event ! [1989]

Frank, Liza & Sammy - The Ultimate Event ! [1989]

starring: Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, Sammy Davis Jr.
September 16, 1991

A fantastic get together of three legends, Frank, Liza & Sammy.
See Sammy do Michael Jackson as never before seen. The show is in three segments, then with all three on stage, they weave in and out of songs, taking the spotlight in turn yet never upstaging each other. The grand finale is ''New York, New York'',which leaves the audience breathless.

A true collectors item.

VHS : Cabaret - 30th Anniversary Special Edition [1972]

Cabaret - 30th Anniversary Special Edition [1972]

starring: Liza Minnelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem, Joel Grey, Fritz Wepper
directed by: Bob Fosse
September 09, 2002

This is a classic film so worth a look. However, I didn't find it enthralling. The numbers are good, but not thrilling like the Sondheim I saw lately. The story is engaging without making the main characters entirely sympathetic. Joel Grey is superb, and you do get an overwhelming sense of what's coming next.

Given that decadent London is going to come to an end fairly soon, it's worth pondering what might now be round the corner for us.

The extras are a bit tacky and tired. I'd really like to see the stage version.

VHS : Arthur 2 on the Rocks [1989]

Arthur 2 on the Rocks [1989]

starring: Bud Yorkin|Dudley Moore|Liza Minnelli|John Gielgud
November 05, 1990

Arthur 2 on the rocks is not as funny as the first film, but I still enjoyed it. Arthur is more embarrasing as a drunk, than funny in this film, but Dudley Moore is still a joy to watch. An average late 80's film revisiting the classic original 'Arthur' film, but not quite capturing the magic of the first.
