The Lion King...deep,moving,inspirational,and beautiful...not to mention hilarious too.
artistic and wonderful...an aweinspiring Disney classic.
my #1 favourite Disney film of all time.

the artwork is at its very, very best and shows the sheer beauty of Africa...and the animals of the wild look so very realistic.
its an incredible masterpiece of a film...and demands more than 100 viewings.
a sheer beautiful class act from the Disney studios...and by far the most breathtaking film i have ever seen.

Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata [2004]

directed by: Bradley Raymond

Before I say anything else, I'll say that I enjoyed this 'midquel.' In fact, I think that The Lion King 1 and 1/2 (or 3) should have gone theatrical. It's sweet, funny and the animation is downright gorgeous. Timon and Pumbaa are two of my favourite characters and I can never get enough of them.

But something's missing. It's that nostalgic feel I get when I watch the first two, especially Simba's Pride. It's simply not there. And it's because this was not part of my childhood like the first films were. I have no fond memories of it, since when it came out, I thought I was too old for 'a baby movie like The Lion King,' and so I didn't care for it. It's only when I realised that The Lion King was more than just a mere 'kids movie' ... Read More:

VHS : Stuart Little [2000]

Stuart Little [2000]

starring: Michael J. Fox, Geena Davis, Hugh Laurie, Jonathan Lipnicki, Nathan Lane
directed by: Rob Minkoff
April 07, 2003

is that i'd heard Brian Setzer (Rockabilly/swing/God) was going to be in this movie! My favourite guitarest does appear....but only in the music extras on the dvd. That's crimanal because the 'If you can't rock me' by the Brian Setzer Orchestra (and featuring Stuart Little bopping away to my idol) is absolutely classic 5 star stuff! Check out the music extras and you'll see what i'm talkin' about. Perhaps it was including in the American release? Anyway, Michael j. Fox is a hero of mine since 'Back to the future' and he does a great job bringing the voice of the little mouse to life. Out of the 3 Stuart Little movies, this is definately the best. I just wish they'd used 'If you can't rock me' in the end credits or something instead of Lou Bego's 'mambo ... Read More:

Lion King II, The: Simba's Pride [1998]

starring: Matthew Broderick, Moira Kelly, Neve Campbell, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella
directed by: Darrell Rooney

I've loved the original Lion King film since I was a young girl and recently saw the sequel to it. I was expecting it to be a disappointment, but it wasn't at all. It wasn't as good as the first one as that would be impossible, but it was the nearest you can get to it. Most of the same characters return and the story follows Kiara, Simba's daughter and heir to the throne, who falls for Kovu, the lion picked to take scar's place and kill Simba. A great film, if you loved the first one you'll like this.

My 2yo loved Stuart Little I and II, but the second film contains the death of a very major character - the 'bad' falcon. The first film showed 'baddies' getting their come-uppance, but, in typical kids-film style, always made clear that they weren't really hurt, learned their lesson etc. The second film doesn't do this - the falcon falls from a very great height after a fatal collision, crashes out of sight inside a bin, and a hungry cat jumps up on the edge licking his lips!
After several viewings, my child picked up on this and got distressed.
Great films, full of humour and charm, but who really wants to explain death to a toddler?

VHS : Frankie And Johnny [1991]

Frankie And Johnny [1991]

starring: Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hector Elizondo, Nathan Lane, Kate Nelligan
directed by: Garry Marshall
June 24, 1996

This is Pacino and Pfeiffer - not since Scarface have they starred together and with the spectacular but bloody end of the former film - it is fantastic to see them together cleaning teeth at the end of this film....

Amazon review seems to imply the star quality is not used - rubbish - these two were made to play off each other - watch Scarface and then watch this - its like a reunion but in better days. Al Pacino carries both roles off within 10 years of each other - the comparison is dramatic as this film is light, entertaining and above all else - finishes on a high - watch it with your loved one, or when you have just split up - either way hope is here - thanks Al and Michelle.....
