Clever Parisian lawyer moves to the country to bring law to the people, but finds himself outsmarted by simple country folk at every turn. Of course he decides that if you can't beat them, join them - especially when he finds himself defending a pig on a charge of murder. In a world where a man and a donkey are prepared for execution and the donkey gets a reprieve and the man doesn't, what would you do? In the end he unwittingly makes a lucky escape and the "smart" folk don't. Good clean fun - except for the dirt and squalor - with a memorable turn from Ian Holm as a less-than-upright priest.

One year after the blockbuster Oliver, Mark Lester is given this role as a boy who is mute or has lost the ability to speak since birth. Distanced from his parents (a mother who is unable to love him and a father who has lost patience) the boy befriends a white horse on the moors and follows it everywhere. John Mills encourages the young boy and becomes a fatherly figure showing him the beautiful wild countryside and moors and the animals that live there. Watch out for a young Fiona Fullerton. The film really plods along apart from one or two incidents before it builds to a climax where the horse falls into a bog and they struggle to pull it out, the young boy shocked and upset saves the day by uttering the horses name and shouts for it to get ... The scandals and intrigues really mount up in this volume, from those concerning Elizabeth's new marriage, to Hudson's mysterious behaviour and the consequences of a lapse on Lady Marjorie's part some years before! Fay Weldon's 'Your Obedient Servant' is a pithy, uproarious joy from start to finish, while 'Property Of A Lady' is a brilliantly-plotted caper that brought Alderton and Collins to the fore and virtually guaranteed them their own spin-off series. (see 'Thomas And Sarah') Also included is the most famous and popular episode, 'Guest Of Honour', in which the Guest of the title is not the only person to arrive at the Bellamy house that night... An absolute pleasure to watch.

I've always had mixed feelings about this film. On the one hand it's a frothy romance that gets great performances out of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, as well as the excellent supporting cast; it's a feel-good rom-com, playing out the fantasy of making good, love conquering all and changing lives for the better.
But on the other hand when you look at it, it's really morally dubious. The overall message seems to be "You might be a prostitute down on the strip, but all you need is a rich guy and all will be well". The section at the end when Kit de Luca (Vivian's friend) comes by the hotel, to demonstrate how she has grown while Kit has stayed the same, is downright offensive. The idea that life-chances depend upon dreams and fantasy ... Read More:

Paul newman is class itself as the leather adorned ,abusive ,crooked but delightful hockey coach in a great sports comedy dealing with the on field and behind the scenes adventures of an ice-hockey team .
it is screwball, pantomime ,satire whatever but never has a dull moment to reckon .
there are multiple strands and lots of foul mouted, sordid ,sporty men with loads of profanities both verbal and visual but it is all relevantly integrated into the compact script.
roy hill was a really great maker who had a great sense of comic timing and he has a script to reckon with a fabulous cast -the results are an exemplary sports genre comedy for all times.
Connect the cliches and you could have written this one yourself.
If it was intended as spoof of a "sweeping family saga", it was brilliant.
I did have fun seeing the members of the cast before they became
famous and in their defense, what could they do with lines like that?
The bright spot was a very young Huge Grant who was totally satisfying
as the sneering and supercillious stepbrother Bruno who collaborates
with Nazis, robs and ruins his venerable family, insults his saintly stepmother
and so much more.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I watched all four hours. 'Till We Meet Again'
actually is entertaining in its own perverse way and besides,
its hard to look away from a train wreck. ... Read More:

Personally I love this film. I would recommend it to anyone. There are so many memorable performances that it's hard to single anyone out. For me, John Leguiziamo as Tybalt gives an incredibly muscular, powerful performance, while Pete Postlethwaite (the Friar) and Paul Sorvino (Juliet's father) are compelling, even quietly astonishing. The leads have a chemistry that manages to be both sweet and deeply passionate at the same time, which makes the curtailment of their love all the more tragic.
Also, for once, Mercutio does not steal the show. I have seen so many performances where the death of Mercutio seems to be the greatest tragedy of the play and the loss of the lovers a sad addendum to it. In this film, while Mercutio's passing is tragic ... Read More:
