The rescue of jessica mcClure is a tense and moving film, The film is dramatic in places and will leave you wanting to watch more, I didnt move from my seat until the film had finished because i wanted to know what happened to the little girl. This isnt the sort of film you can watch again and again as the reason you watch it the first time is to find out what happens to jessica. A gripping film the first time round, But only worth watching once. I would recomend this video to the more mature, A video for mothers i think !?

Part 2 of the sixth season of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" continues the themes of adult life and self-destruction introduced in Part 1. Season Six rubbed the fans up the wrong way because it was the Slayer and her friends who were the Big Bad this season, making wrong decisions, splitting apart and becoming weak to the point where the pathetic "Evil Trio" could actually pose a threat to them. Though it makes for depressing viewing sometimes, especially in filler episodes, it all eventually comes together in style.
The main characters continue to be well-fleshed out and are fun to watch, although Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Tara (Amber Benson) are as good as left out for most of the action. Tara was a sweetly mellow presence, ... Read More:

I grew up watching only a few films and the Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of them.
I used to get my mam to rent it from the local video shop over and over again, and in the end the owner just ended up giving us the video.
Sadly, since my VHS player stopped working last year, i have had to convert all my videos onto DVD, which is a pain and costs money.
I think the Hunnchback of Notre Dame is an amazing story! Especially for children and especially for those growing up in the world today. I believe, and know, the moto to the story is dont be afraid of who you are, be proud. And since there's a lot of people today that are afraid to be themselves. I think this story is s good lesson!
The film has an amazing storyline..okay ... Read More:

I never miss the opportunity to watch this film. Fantastic plot as Harry Faversham struggles to proves his courage and save his friends.
Ralph Richardson is brilliant in possibly one of the finest supporting performances ever seen on film.
Pity about the "fuzzy wuzzy" reference and don't worry yourself too much wondering what the British are doing in the Sudan in the first place.

Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider in early 70's New York City. Dirty, dangerous and gritty NYC. They are narcotic cops after the drug lords who import heroin into NYC via France. The methods and language used by these cops is far from PC but they get the job done!
Oh and it includes one of THE great car chase sequences. What's great about the car chase is that it's just long enough - not a second is wasted.
Much of this film set the way for other such crime films/TV shows and pretty much the standard for car chases in films.
I loved the three videos in this box set from start to finish. "Young at Heart" introduced me to the wonders of Sinatra, who sings "One for my Baby, Young at Heart, and, my fav, One of those things," amongst other fab songs. Sinatra and Day really shine in this heart-warming musical. "The Thrill of It All" is about a doctor (James Garner) who becomes jealous of his wife's (Doris Day) new found celebrity from a soap advertisement. It is completely hilarious! I laughed at every moment of this fantastic film! "Lover Come Back" is also a great comedy - this time Doris was partnered with Rock Hudson. The two make great viewing. The chemistry between them, coupled with the script results in a film people will watch time and time again! You don't need to be a fan of Doris Day ... Read More:

I teach GCSE drama in a rough Saff London Comp and get the students hooked with Baz Lurhrmann's modern version of it and then to teach them more of what Shakespeare had in mind when he wrote the play, I show them this one by Zeffirelli - it works a treat. It is beautifully done, universal in its themes and appeal and the acting is rivitingly good - especially the very young and beautiful Olivia Hussy, though Michael York as a petulant Tybalt is equally good.

With a central performance by Alistair Sim that is nothing short of brilliant this movie deserved to be restored to its original condition for DVD but wasn't. I have not seen any prior reviews that commented on the crappy quality of this print but crappy it is, sadly.
Cut to fit the TV screen, it is a poor quality print. No subtitles. No closing credits. A lack of sharpness and definition to the picture and sound. The "extras" are not worth bothering with. Disappointing is what it is.
Kathleen Harrison is superb as is the supporting cast of British film luminaries. They and Alistair deserved better. Cheap and looks it.
