Just when two/three parters were coming into being, season two had mulder and scully chasing if even more strange phenomeon. Those used to modern Xfiles will find it a bit 'old-fasioned' [scully's hair, as if it needs to be pointed out, and the glasses, need i say more?] but well worth the money. Many of the episodes are in the book series, Our Town being a great one to mention. As with other xfiles box sets, the main problem is the season finale arc. you'l get the conluding episode from the previous season [although not with this one as season 1 ended withwithout 'to be continued'] and the first part of the next season finale. Unfortunatly with season two, the only way to get the two concluding episodes is to buy season 3, as it's the ... Read More:

Post Cold War science fiction. No more Soviets. The Russians are not dangerous and the Chinese are not yet in the picture, not to speak of the terrorists. So danger had to come from the sky, hence from the cosmos, hence some immaterial living form, at least immaterial according to our definition of matter. They just take over any kind of communications network and have at their disposal the whole sum of human knowledge, plus theirs, and they start spreading. They take over a Russian scientific boat and then recuperate anything, computer parts, mechanical parts and human parts, to build some hybrid beings that can take the control of the ship and then go to some human harbor and invade the planet. But it all goes wrong when some real human beings decide ... Read More:

This is quite a good dr who story. The doc travels back in time to stop lynx from destroying the timeline of earth. Lynx has crashed his ship in medieval England and comes forward in time to steal scientists from a convention to help in his repairs. He needs to use a castle so he gives the bloke that owns the castle some guns, so that he can attack his neighbours and overtake their castle. June Brown aka Dot Branning nee Cotton is the neighbour. What would nasty nick say? I think it's quite humourous especially with the stink bombs and John Pertwee's funny facial expressions!

A lot of people think it's cool to disrespect the Fifth these days. I spent the last 20 years (not all of it, obviously) rewatching a few stories about Mr. Davison's Doctor (Earthshock, Five Doctors, Resurrection of the Daleks and caves of Androzani) and so I'm left with the impression he was damn fine. I recently started to collect the rest of his era and while he had his ebbs and flows (like all the Doctors) he just never ceases to impress with that cool, charming, dashing Cricketer who has a vulnerable side and yet a hard edge as well. When I got round to Castrovalva, his debt story, I found it one of the most entertaining and well crafted stories of the lot, a real gem, and endlessly rewatchable. I especially love the way the Doctor goes all eccentric after regenerating ... Read More:

the first episode is 'trapped in the sky' and features the new atomic powered aircraft 'fireflash'. the hood has placed a bomb in the landing gear of the aircraft preventing it from landing. only the tracy brothers can save the day! my favourite scenes are when jeff says @the fireflash, gee thats a great aircraft' and the next scene shows the fireflash skimming across the trees over the runway threshhold. the sound is fantastic and the digital remastering makes it all look so real! 10/10
