Barbara sticks her nose in as usual, and tries to stop the practice of human sacrifice. The Doc must persuade her not to interfere, whilst also trying to find an alternative entrance to the tomb in order to leave in the TARDIS.......

This is a haunting, unforgettable series, with well-developed, credible characters in an extraordinary, yet all-too possible situation. In the 1970's, at the height of the Cold War, the destruction of over 90% of mankind seemed a real threat, and many writers considered how the few survivors would cope. In Volume 3, the series continues to explore different attitudes to survival. Finding her son Peter remains Abby's overwhelming priority, tempered by the voice of reason represented by Greg and Jenny. In " ... Angels" the trio is enlarged by by two children and a dog, and they unwillingly bring disaster to another group of survivors. In the following episode, "Garland's War", Abby, again with good intentions, puts someone else's ... Read More:

Part of a long running old television series (created by Terry Nation), which deals with people trying to cope after a virus has wiped out 95% of the worlds population.
There are two episodes on this tape, Gone Away and Corn Dolly.
The both concentrate on life in a world with only a handful of people alive, death everywhere, no electricity, tap water or in fact any of the normal day to day luxuries that we take for granted.
You wont find any dazzling special effects, or in fact any high-budget effects, but what is present, is a good plot, and that 70's Tv feeling.
Despite not having seen the first 2 episodes, and also the age of the show, I enjoyed watching it, and look forward to seeing what happens in future ... Read More:

Lawnmower man was a decent film which set my mind thinking, about the possibilites of technology. This film only made me think of the possibilites, on how i could have better spent my time. The special effects arent the best but there often impressive, the story draggs and often grinds to a dull stop. Not a bad idea just needed better direction, and a better script.

The assignment is one of the regular "lets torture O'Brien" episodes whose "guest alien" becomes a important part of this excellent series in later episodes. Without at all revealing the plot suffice it say that Colm Meaney excels as always, whilst Rosalind Chao shows that she has been criminally underused throughout TNG and DS9.
"Trials...." was conceived as DS9's tribute to 30 years of Star Trek and does not let it down. It is a tour de force in technical terms with DS9 characters being seemlessly inserted into an original Trek episode. The Trouble with Tribbles was a love it or hate it episode of the original Trek, but if you know that episode at all (love it or hate it) you will appreciate the humour of Trials... ... Read More:
