Joe Hardy is a fanatic, middle-aged Washington Senators baseball fan who makes a pact with the devil. In exchange for his soul (although there is a small escape clause). he'll become a 22-year-old savior of the Senators, the greatest long ball hitter in history, and he'll lead the team to a pennant. Later, young Hardy shows signs of yearning for the wife he left behind, so the Devil sends in Lola, his vamp supreme. But thanks to Joe's integrity, the escape clause, and after a number of song and dance numbers, things are put right for both Joe and the Senators.

ok so it might not be a typical family watching film, but i grew up watching this film with my dad and it never bothered me or gave me nightmares or anything. It has now become an absolute favourite of mine and i make my fiance watch it over and over again when we rent it constantly from the video shop. I have to buy it...this film and of course kickboxer, another family favourite. The music throughout these films are awesome. Such feel good films and who doesnt love to watch jean claude van damme in that leotard. haha.

of the 13 season reviews i own this was the first one i bought and is probably the best. some brilliant drivers like prost senna mansell piquet and other world class performers like alesi berger patrese and the debut of one michael schumacher. the detail of the qualifying and races is brilliant while its interesting to see how times have changed. ferrari mclaren benetton and williams competed for wins whilst the likes of jordan tyrrell dallara and even minardi had their moments.
id buy simply because of the quality of racing, the excellent footage and coverage. plus to look back at days when more than 2 teams and 4 drivers could win races. >>More Details |

The matches on this card were good but what everyone wants to know is what I think of the main event. The First ever Hell In A Cell match. To be honest this was pretty much one of the greatest matches I have ever seen. I mean in a lot of matches (with some exceptions)the first match of a certain type is the best. (This is however joined with six-man at Armageddon) This Match was a good Balance of technical action, brutality, story and somthing else I had never saw coming. Combat on the roof and Kane. This Hell in a cell didn't need somebody getting battered in pointless ways (Mick Foley), It didn't need someone getting thrown off the cell in the first minute. My favourite documentary ever I should think. There's nothing dated about this as the situation and drama is timeless. The race itself is depicted in all it's lunacy - gashed heads, broken ankles, protesting print workers and colliding support vehicles. There are many aspects of this story that make it seem uncompromisingly French - the passion for cycling, again, the protestors and the driving. All this comes over in abundance without the need for translation while the English commentary describes drama of the race itself.

Hoop dreams is a fantastic, inspirational sometimes heartbreaking documentary about two very different boys who dream of being NBA players.
It is one of the best films i have ever seen. It's a bit like 'Coach Carter' mixed with 'The pursuit of Happyness' but it's much better than both true life movies, filled with warts and all. I would recommend this film to everyone especially teenage boys wanting a career in professional sports but it certainly does appeal to adults too. The boys in the movie went through everything from Injuries, personal family problems, disappointment, and the pressure of choosing the right university/college and they came out the other end stronger and more determined to make their dreams come true.
