By far the best series of the Sopranos, this is a fantastic box set. 5 stars is perhaps a tad generous, but since 4.5 wasn't an option I wasn't going to undersell the item.
It's the most violent of the 5 series, assuming the fifth follows trend, which is a plus for me. That sounds a little immature but hey, I don't know many guys who are fans of the organised crime genre who aren't fans of the violence factor.
I usually judge series'/seasons based on the ratio of episodes I enjoyed and episodes I didn't. Of the 13 episodes in this box sets, there were only 2 that I didn't "enjoy" and even then, they were more than watchable.
The remaining 11 (including the pilot) were fantastic. I look the Sopranos format through ... Read More:

This video would make an excellent addition to the collection of any fans of Morecambe and Wise or a good video to introduce people to the joy of watching Eric and Ern. This certainly shows the talent that the two possess and if you want a good night's entertainment then this is the video to buy. I am a big fan or the Morecambe and Wise videos and if I was the least bit disappointed with my purchase I would tell you straight. But becasue of the sheer brilliance of the two, I have no insults, only compliments!

great to see both william hartnell and patrick troughton playing their old characters(or is it character?) in a 10 year anniversary of doctor who.
the plot chosen for this is quite good, but seeing troughton and jon pertwee together is a real treat. U.N.I.T are on hand as always to give their support.
a shame that william hartnell had to film his scenes before everyone else; sadly, by this time he was very sick and this programme marked his last acting job. he still acts very well.
the only down side as far as i can see, is that no previous companions make an appearance; it would have been great to see the likes of susan, ian, polly, jamie and zoe etc.
still, a well made story to celebrate 10 years of a true science fiction ... Read More:

In my opinion this is Doctor Who at his best and got me into Patrick Troughton. It explores the idea of slavery and the effects of a society not allowed to progress with a civilisation, the Gonds, forbidden to study science and acting as "brain food" for the mechanical Krotons. It also has that BBC 60's style about it where script dominates over visuals. A classic!

Great to see that this is out on dvd and video at last. brilliantly acted by Paul Nicholas and the gorgeous Jan Francis, it has comedy, pathos, wit and some great one liners from a well assembled cast. The excellent John Ringham, under rated and always a super actor with ability of timing and expression, provides a colourful foil for the on/off romance beteween vince and penny. Penny's mother, played by Sylvia Kay,is an actress of acerbic wit and energetic acting. Her monologues with each of the characters provide moments of great mirth and insight. This is a wonderful series, but only 2 of the 3 series are so far available. Watch it for a flavour of the 1980's and enjoy the chemistry of a talented cast. It is the equal of fools and horses, being full of the ... Read More:

Harry's done it again! He's made a better series than the first. It has the great dj-mungus SHASHIE and NICEY seeing how they cope leaving radio fab fm. It has (as always) TIM NICE BUT DIM,and the classic WAYNE SLOB robbing a bank. if you've had a taste of comedy from Enfield or you're just a beginner, this man is a genius at making everyone laugh their heads off.

With over 150 stories broadcast, opinion is often divided as to which are the best and worst Doctor Who stories. Ofcourse the usual level of consensus, will see Caves of Androzani, somewhere near the top, and Timelash,Time Flight, and Time And The Rani, at the opposite end. But then in the middle you get stories such as Seeds of Death, Ambassadors of Death, and The Planet of Fire, which people seem to give less attention too, they are simply seen as ok. I think Planet of Fire perhaps deserves a little more recognition. In the documentary accompanying The Leisure Hive, reference is made to the producer John Nathan Turner favouring style over storyline, certainly in Planet of Fire, the fantastic location of Lanzorate, does help distract from a rather weak storyline. ... It's hard to believe that "Silver Nemesis" got less than 5 stars average rating. This is an exceptionally good show, especially when you consider that it comes from the Sylvester McCoy era, where most shows were real stinkers! The lovely and attractive Ace is certainly a welcome addition, and the contrasting dialog between her and the Silver Nemesis sent chills up my spine. When Ace says, "Catch you later" to the Silver Nemesis, it's both funny and scary because we know Ace didn't know what to say. If you were faced with the Silver Nemesis you wouldn't know what to say either. It gives us a sense that these characters are very much out of time from each other, and have come together to do what they are suppose to do. Not everyone enjoys this form of entertainment, but don't ... Read More:

phoenix nights is a show that is hard not to like, six episodes of easy to watch, constantly entertained comedy, not overly explicit, likeable characters even brian potter, who is meant to be the villain of sorts, yes this is why peter kay is widely regarded as a genuinely funny guy.
The show centres around a working mans club, one of the old fashioned clubs with trivial entertainment that has been phased down over the years, located in bolton, the owner is played by kay and is called brian potter,a wheelchair bound bully who will do what it takes to put his club on the worldwide map.His second in command is jerry saint sinclair who is the more understanding of the two,and various other characters are found there as well, zany scenes pop up all over the place but a sense of realism is maintained, the ...
