The pilot episode is interesting if little else, but inside the spaceship / the edge of destruction (whichever title you prefer) gives us the first real chance to see the original TARDIS crew as characters in their own right, instead of just Dalek-chasers. Yes the Daleks made Dr. Who a household name, but does anyone really believe the series would have lasted so long without stories of this calibre? True sci-fi, real characters and not a BEM to be seen.

LWT were very brave to devote the whole fourth series to The War, but after watching this I can say that the risk more than paid off. Here we have a view if the war not often seen on TV, as most of the episodes concern those left behind. Not one of the regular characters remains untouched by the terrible events, almost always with heartbreaking consequences. But don't let that put you off; the stories are very moving but not depressing...the writing and performances make sure of that, as do the moments of humour that are never far away. In this and the following volume, the series was at the height of its powers. If you want a drama you can really feel involved by, look no further.

Blackadder has always been one of the funniest and best written British Sitcoms around and this forth and last series is one of the best from the shows run. The six episodes of the series all show-off the great script and the brilliant performances by both the main cast and the guest stars. All the cast seem to be thoroughly enjoying themselves throughout the series but alongside Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson, my favourite has to be Stephen Fry for his brilliant portrayal of General Melchett.
Each episode never ceases to be funny and the last episode of the series is still surprisingly touching despite the number of times that I have watched it. The one slight problem with the series is the laughter track that can be somewhat ... Read More:

Buffy the vampire slayer is by far the best Sci-Fi show ever!! It's been written amazingly, the acting is phenomenal. It has such an amazing array of genres, like comedy, drama, romance, musical, horror and sci-fi. This season is in my opinion the best yet. The musical was amazing, the cast are truly talented. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a must-see program!

The War Games is an epic story that sees the departure of the cosmic hobo,Patrick Troughton, the iconic 2nd Doctor, long serving companion Jamie, played by Frazer Hines and the lovely,Wendy Padbury, playing super intelligent Zoe Heriot.
The story starts with the Doctor and his companions arriving in no man's land during WW1,the great twist being,it turns out to be an alien planet with aliens casually watching kidnapped earth men despataching each other, through reinactments of various wars.
The story goes on for 10 episodes and special praise must go to Malcolm Hulke and Terrance Dicks, for a highley imaginative script and the directon by the late,David Maloney is excellent.
The story is a lot more mature than others in season 6,setting the way ... Read More:

This is not as good as the other surviving Troughton stories but its still not bad.If you can get it for cheap on Amazon then give it a try.The Quarks are interesting and although a little padded the story is fun.The main villain in this story is the Dominator Rago who while not riseing to the same level as villains like the Master, the Daleks and the Ice-Warriors is much better than the Invisible Enemy and Kroll probably with Taren Capel and Gavrok.Troughton is good but the Dulcians(aside Cully) are dull and boring. The action is resonable and I like the plan to turn Dulkis into a radioactive source of power.Give The Dominators a chance.

Once again Zenith North, the UK-based production team for this series of the televised Famous Five books, has excelled. True to the books in all but a few minor details, this series takes us back to the 1940's idyll in which children played from dawn till dusk in the heat of a glorious British summer.
In this double-bill, we meet the Five - Julian, Dick, George, Anne, and Timmy the dog - on their way to "Smugglers Top", a "rambling sort of a place", according to the children's Uncle Quentin, where they have been sent for the summer holidays. But all is not well at this ancient smugglers' haunt, where strange lights, mysterious marshes and underground tunnels abound. Team up with the Famous Five and discover who is responsible for the mysterious ... Read More:

This video brings to life the characters which have long been favourites of my son and me. Anton Rodgers' narration seems perfect, he doesn't change his voice for the characters, just reads the words from the books. In fact when I read the stories out loud I find myself giving them the same intonation as him! The toys are brought to life very convincingly. Altogether a good choice for 2-5 year olds.
