I have used this video for years and years, before, during and after being a total gym freak and I agree with most, this is one of the best workouts all round for the home. I too am on my second video as I wore the first one out and I came on this site today to see if I could get it on DVD as no doubt in the near future we will no longer be using video players! I have also bought other video's / DVD's ranging from other step ones such as Reebok and also tae bo, Ministry of Sound etc, etc. I find that some sections on other home video's bore me but I enjoy every section of this one!

If you like step, you'll love this :)

My only complaint also is that it isn't available on DVD:)

Bugsy Malone [1976]

starring: Jodie Foster, Scott Baio, Florrie Dugger, John Cassisi, Martin Lev
directed by: Alan Parker

I watched this film at various stages throughout my life and still have a soft spot for Bugsy Malone. Jodie Foster is and always has been one of my favourite actresses and this is the film I first saw her in. Remember when Babyface says 'get Babyface..I am Babyface' who incidentally is a British actor called Dexter Fletcher and has been in many television productions and films more famously in Lock Stock as Soap. The British actors seem to have done more with their lives than the American ones.....please correct me if I'm wrong. I wont mind...

This film is never outdated, should still be 'allowed' by the PC Brigade and no doubt be watched a few generations down the line. The actors were outstanding for their age and for the time and the ... Read More:

As a youth I was a great fan and therefore wanted to have a bit of a nostalgia trip. Unfortunately it just didn't do it for me and I think I could have spent my money better. Two stars for the one liners but for nothing else

Very dynamic production which really swings into the action side of Spiderman. The essence of the comic strip is also well defined, with the sets suitably cramped and very inner city like. Trump card though for me was the stuttering relationship between Parker and his dame, the very edible Miss Dunst. The final flowerng of their love and the revelation of Parker's heavy secret is just superb, and cuts across the electrifying action of the movie, to land a sublime contrast which lifts this picture out of the everyday - this is a masterpiece of the genre. For all the thrills and spills, my favourite scene of the movie - the incredibly arty shot of Spidey and his muse splayed out both lovestruck on one of his webs. Maybe not that hard to dream up for a writer, ... Read More:

VHS : Eddie Izzard - Live At The Ambassadors [1993]

Eddie Izzard - Live At The Ambassadors [1993]

starring: Eddie Izzard
directed by: John Gordillo
November 15, 1993
Best Selling > VHS > VHS

This is the first stand up Izzard video/DVD in a series and the only one not available on DVD. Over the years the Eddie stand up releases have got more glitzy and showbizzy but not necessarily funnier. For me the first two - Live at the Ambassadors and Unrepeatable are the best two. They are spontaneous, fun and silly and come over as natural. Many of izzard's classic gag territories are on these first two releases, the shame is perhaps that in more recent releases the material hasnt moved on.

Whilst unrepeatable has the classics on advertising and cats and dogs, live at the ambassadors gives a great glance at early Izzard. It may lack the glitz of circle or sexie, but it is natural, if raw, and funny.

With the new 6 dvd box set of eddie izzard ... Read More:

Spread over two discs with no extras and no space wasted, this is an outstanding DVD of an outstanding series, shown here as one long "movie" cut. The optional dubbed English audio track might offend the purists (me included), but bear in mind two things: one, the whole thing was dubbed anyway (in German), because the set was so noisy and two, the entire cast spoke English and dubbed themselves, so it's a LOT better than you might expect, should you find yourself using the English track as a means to get someone to see it! Hopefully it won't come to that...

VHS : Peter Kay - Live At The Bolton Albert Halls [2003]

Peter Kay - Live At The Bolton Albert Halls [2003]

starring: Peter Kay, Sally Lindsay, Amer Nazir, Jennifer James
directed by: Peter Kay
November 10, 2003
Best Selling > VHS > VHS

Do yourself a favour and go and get 'Live At The Top Of The Tower'. Then forget about buying any of his other stuff, because essentially, it's the same material. Kay has the least amount of range I've ever known in a stand up comedian. 'Tower' was a genuinely funny release, albeit a little lazy comedically. This is just more of the same from somebody obviously trying to milk the popularity he got off the one good thing he's done.

Nostalgic comedy is pretty cheap at the best of times, but when it's done well it can work. It worked in his last DVD, but this is repetitive and insulting to the fans who deserve something fresh, not repackaged repeats.

The Good Life - Series 4 - Episodes 5 To 7 - Plus The Royal Special

starring: Richard Briers, Felicity Kendal, Paul Eddington, Penelope Keith
September 03, 2001
Best Selling > VHS > VHS

This video includes Suit Yourself, Sweet and Sour Charity, Anniversary, and the Royal Command Performance (also called When I'm 64).

The first three episodes listed are from the final series and are some of the best shows. Suit Yourself has Tom and Barbara turning fleeces into clothing (or something like clothing) and Jerry competing furiously for Sir's job. Sweet and Sour Charity features Margo deciding whether to take the lead role in the Music Society's production of Sweet Charity, a play she detests, or to stick to her principles and sit it out. Meanwhile, Tom and Barbara debate over whether to take the leftover heating oil from next door. In Anniversary, Sir has decided who will replace him when he retires. Will it be Jerry or the loathesome Snetterton? And will ... Read More:

This tape is a copy of the funniest man in stand up and is a must for any collector of humor
It is explicit but with a magical ability to make you laugh that even with explicit content people from 18 year olds to grannies have to laugh.
It is not anything like the humor of the clubs that abound in the north
good luck and enjoy a great funny man at his best

VHS : Prospero's Books [1991]

Prospero's Books [1991]

starring: John Gielgud, Michael Clark, Michel Blanc, Erland Josephson, Isabelle Pasco
directed by: Peter Greenaway
April 12, 1999
Best Selling > VHS > VHS

I must admit I don't like Greenaway as a rule, and I find Prospero one of Shakespeare's least appealing characters. But this film is quite extraordinary in all sorts of respects. Nyman's music is fantastic, and used here to good effect (Nyman didn't think so, and broke up with Greenaway as a result, but that's his problem). Ditto Sarah Leonard's singing. An ancient Gielgud is splendid as Prospero. Michael Clark's performance as Caliban has to be seen to be believed. The visuals are unlike anything else you have ever seen. (What sort of casting agency can come up with about 100 people aged from about 5 to about 80, all naked for all of the time? Perhaps they are the members of a naturist club? They play the "spirits" of the island.) The idea of focusing on the Books is original, and ... Read More:
