This is one of my favourite movies. Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly, where can you go wrong? Frank is adorable in this movie and Gene is, how shall I say, hot! It has excellent songs in it, my fav being 'Modern man'. It's no Singing in the rain, but definatley worth an oggle.

This was one of my favourite films as a child and still is today. In my opinion it is THE greatest Disney film and does not have the fame it deserves.
From beginning to end this is a delight to watch, mainly thanks to the wonderful Sherlock Holmes based characters and cunning twists in the plot. There is plenty to amuse both the child and the Holmes fan, from the narration of Dr Dawson, the loveableness of Toby, the evil schemes of the Napolean of Crime - Professor Ratigan , and of course the cunning disguises and eccentric genius of Basil himself, not to mention brief cameos from the human forms of Holmes and Watson. Although the events of this film sit within the time-scale of the original, it is an interesting exploration of some of the untouched themes from its predecessor.
The Beast's dislike of Christmas is assumed by the audience to be simple 'Scrooge'-ism. As the story unfolds, we discover a deeper, more personal rationale for his aversion.
The addition of new characters - Forte (voiced by Tim Curry) and Fife (Paul Reubens - aka Pee-Wee Herman) - gives the story room to expand.

There are not enough words to express how much I truly adore this movie, it's legendary! I could watch this every day and still not get bored, I'm not even going to wait until I have kids to try and justify me buying it.

A real mixture in the musical version of "A Christmas Carol". Superb performances by Albert Finney, Alec Guinness, Edith Evans and, particularly, Kenneth More. The supporting actors are equally as good. Beautifully produced (it has a feeling of "Oliver" about it) with a somewhat mediocre score from Leslie Bricusse (with some notable exceptions). It does certainly bring "A Christmas Carol" to life and is well worth watching. A feel good movie.
