I am a collector of Clyde Puffer memorabilia and I found the Video most amusing and typical of these "Wee" boats. When I was an office boy (In 1941) for a glasgow shipping company I had the pleasure of sailing "Doon the water" to Port Glasgow where it was having a re-fit.. she was called the Jennie and is illustrated in Dan Mcdonald's book "The Clyde Puffer" page 33, she was wrecked in the island of Eigg in 1954--- Whilst on Holiday on Pembrokeshire last year I had a Serendipity experience when I found a model 14 inches in length with every detail shown of the vessel in a shop in St.Davids--- I have now purchased The Vital Spark 2 video and again look forward to seeing that. I can thoroughly recommend the Video to anyone who is a fan of this ... Read More:

My 2 year old son loves this. There are 6 stories with plenty of variety and humour. Keeps adults entertained too. It's a pleasant change to see a kids video where the introductory music, titles and credits do not take up more time than the actual story. The choice of John Alderton to do the voices was inspired. In short, more intelligent than Noddy (not difficult!), less mind numbing than Thomas the Tank Engine.

In my humble opinion this movie has everything. Superb music, some great comedy moments and a brilliant ending. It is most certainly in my top 3 films of all time. Just sit back and enjoy but don't take it too serious 5 stars!!!

We always strive to find wholesome entertainment for our kids that doesn't drive us-adults nuts through cynicism, shmaltziness, synthesized music or some bias - and this is it. An excellent collection of nursery rhymes with animation and illustration that grips kids and a quality of musical performance (vocal and instrumental) that would make a great standalone audio-CD. I never really like Isla St. Clair until I heard her on this recording but here she is excellent, Martin Carthy is brilliant and the instrumental scoring (with early music instruments) is just top-notch. I live in Portland, OR in the USA and would encourage Longman or whoever holds the rights to this material to put out both a DVD and CD to preserve this for posterity.

I'll admit that after the let down that was season 4, I didnt really know what to expect. I will also admit that to me no season of Buffy will never be as good as seasons 2 and 3, which were, on the whole, outstanding. The first time round season 5 left me a bit empty, Im not sure why but I did struggle at first with the introduction of Dawn and felt the season was a little flat at the beginning.
However on the second watch, this season is actually really very good. I loved Glory, one of the best villains in my opinion and the unfolding plotline over Dawn being the key was played so brilliantly by all but the real credit has to go to Michelle Trachtenberg who steals many of the scenes when it is revealed who she really is. One of the most feel good movies ever - ignore anyone who thinks it's too saccharine, too unrealistic, too Hugh Granty - sit back and enjoy! Anyone who thinks it's just escapism hasn't noticed Liam Neeson's amazing portrayal of a heartbroken widower, the wedding's best man who is secretly in love with the bride, the pain of Emma Thompson's character realising her husband is thinking of straying, Laura Linney's awful dilemma of her own happiness versus her mentally ill brother- the film is full of real life. It also has a really wonderful injection of unrealistic fiction and above all, a cast to die for - no bad performances whatsoever.
I remember watching this at the age of six, and being amazed at how well... amazing it is. Watch out for the bit on the motorway... it's very moving!

This is one of those films [incase it is cross posted this is a review of "Miss Marple: Nemesis (1986) ASIN: 6303404855] that need to be watched twice. So much is packed from the beginning that you may forget it by the time you need the information. Then you can say "Oh, that was why."
A previous stated "This play isn't about a murder, it's about Miss Marple." And many of the characters repeat this through out the film. And this is maybe not standard but one of the plays where everyone and then some shows up in one place. It is not quite like "And Then There Were None (1945)" ASIN: 6304679661, but in a way more complicated.
Everyone is wrapped up in saying how good the plot is, how good Agatha Christie is, and how well Joan Hickson played Miss ... Read More:
