This was one of the best ever BBC dramas.
It made me smile but at the end it will make you cry!
It showed some of history that you would never know about unless you were
a true historian.
Everybody played their part well.
Worth watching again and again.

The Witches [1989]

I watch this film even when the kids aren't around, its a superb film from beginning to end if you're aged 4 or 94. Its a little frightening in places but not too bad for small children. The make-up is fantastic and Anjelica Huston plays the best witch on screen since the Wizard Of Oz....really powerful and evil. I won't spoil the ending but its clever funny and they all get their just desserts 'so to speak'. One of Rowan Atkinsons better parts, Jane Horrocks' cameo role is delightful. You get the feel that this is exactly how Roald Dahl would have wanted the film to be like - full marks !!!

One of the better things about this installment is things get interesting almost immediately, despite the below average opening sequence. Bond unleashes a vat of stuff on a guy who was being made into a clone, I guess he drowned in it or something. What was that aimed at Bond, a squirt gun?. Not a very good opening, the theme song was another classic by Shirley Bassey. And of course, as is the tradition with Sean Connery's James Bond, he is drinking within the first few minutes of the film. But soon after this, Bond ends up trading identities with a man named Peter Franks and this is where it starts to get really interesting.

Diamonds Are Forever deals with the villain Blofeld who is smuggling huge quantities of diamonds with the ultimate ... Read More:

I might be extremely sarcastic about the role in the world of the closest ally of the United States, the UK, but I admit many British actors are unbelievably talented. Sir Roger Moore is a brilliant performer. Together with Harrison Ford, he's my favourite actor. I enjoy all his James Bond movies very much. A great movie, a great actor, that's all I want to say.

Catherine Cookson - The Secret [2000]

directed by: Alan Grint

Like all Catherine Cookson's stories, 'The Secret' contains the perfect mixture of romance, tension and passion. This one is truly my favourite. It tells the story of Freddie Musgrave (played by Colin Buchanan aka Peter Pascoe)who's been living with and older woman ever since he was a young boy. They have a kind of love / mother-son relationship. Together they share a terrible secret which surfaces again when Belle, a young girl who also lives with them meets the charming Marcel. When they marry things start to go wrong and Freddie has to save Belle.
A fascinating story for true romantics.

The movie is a 1966 film adaptation of the play of the same name by Edward Albee. It was the first film directed by Mike Nichols, and starred Elizabeth Taylor as Martha and Richard Burton as George, with George Segal as Nick and Sandy Dennis as Honey. The film version differs slightly from the play. The play features only four characters, while in the film there are two other minor characters

George, a disillusioned academic, and Martha, his caustic wife, have just come home from a faculty party. When a handsome young professor and his mousy wife stop by for a nightcap, an innocent night of fun and games quickly turns dark and dangerous. Long-buried resentment and rage are unleashed as George and Martha turn their rapier-sharp wits against each other, ... Read More:

I first watched this drama when I was about 10 years old and thought it was fantastic. I then watched it again a few weeks ago, and was ultimately surprised that this was available to buy, I had no idea. I am definately going to buy it. Alex Kingston should definately be commended for her excellant performance as Moll, A great drama definately worth watching. I can almost guarantee that 90% of people will watch it again and again.
