This film is an absolute gem, and certainly one of Maurizio Nichetti's best works. It works on just about every level, and his enthusiasm for film history and film-making shines from every frame. The frenetic humour and highly sophisticated wit are a joy to behold. It's definitely worth taking the time to track down.

My favourite Argento movie, Inferno is an elaborate and beautifully filmed nightmare, an exercise in 'pure film'. That's all it's meant to be, so forget your conditioning and move beyond the confines of 'story' and 'narrative cohesion'. Lose yourself instead in the magical universe, where the only logic is the logic of dreams and Argento's sole intention is to lead you to a state of near-permanent supernatural dread. Ignored for far too long in favour of its more famous predecessor, Inferno is a violent, hallucinatory masterpiece; a nightmare of operatic proportions; a treatise on terror; and last, but by no means least, a criminally underrated film.

anyone who has watched a john walters film can normally sum up any of his film as they are all as equally as camp...unfortunatlly divine is not in this one,but as always we have the repulsive, but oddly loveable edith massey there to add a bit of charm(though not for her ability as an actress) as always the plot of any j.w film is totally irrellevant as they are meant for shock value and general level of sleaze. but,for a night of jaded humour on a night in it is a film you could watch again and again as it is a very fun film with a lot of dark surreal scenes. p.s , you dont have to be weird to enjoy it! ..........martin davies

This film continues the story from the first film. The main difference between this one and the last film is the artwork style, which has become more childish looking. Although annoying at first you become accustomed to it and can still thoroughly enjoy the film. There are more fights, laughs, twists, elephants and monsters in this film than in part one. Prince Arislan is still trying to defeat the Lusitanian army and their leader Silver Mask with the help of his friends and makes two more allys in this film. Although Silver Mask was seen as a power mad tyrant in the first film, Prince Arislan uncovers a sinister secret and truth about this masked man which turns his whole world upside down,is the masked man really who he says he is? I first saw this beautiful and legendary film today and all I can say is, what a gem it really is!
The storyline is wonderful, the acting is truely unbeatable and "Kes" will make you both laugh and cry.
Lynne Perrie who later went on to play Ivy Tilsley in Coronation Street, deserves recognition as a fantastic actress, I loved her in "Corrie", "Queenie's Castle", "Follyfoot", "Leeds United" and of course, her infamous appearances on "The Word" and "Shooting Stars". But perhaps her best work is "Kes" where she plays the mouthy Mrs. Casper.
The other actors are also brilliant and the storyline is strong.
Above all, this film is a truely remarkable piece of work that I can fully recommened you see.

A cold, chilling, interpretation of Vincent's last days. Actor Jacques Dutronc picked up the 1992 Cesar Award for his performance as Vincent as his demise to madness finally causes him to commit suicide. Dutronc play Vincent as removed and seemigly not always 'quite with it.' His performance is brooding and sometimes confusing which makes you want and need to see this film again and again, discovering something new about Vincent upon each viewing. 'Towering...powerful...masterly...this is a film to savour' Said The Times and they were right!

as someone from Edinburgh who lived and went to plenty of the places mentioned in Trainspotting i have to say read the book the book instead which has the full content and message rather than just a comic short hand for what was happening at the time. It made fashionista fools think that taking hard drugs was a nice activity and gave them kudos and brought in too many people too Edinburgh looking for that lifestyle.
I have never managed it all the way through and think it is just an alternative advert for Britain for the naively trendy or people who misguided enough to think that the pathos and dark humor wasn't there to balance the story...great cast though and on the whole well acted but an overrated footnote to late 90's Britain
