There's not much to say about this little box other than it's brilliant from the stylish retro design of the system to every gaming aspect. The games feature arcade perfect gameplay (occasionally with the high score moved to the side to fit your TV screen better). I am hooked on Ms. Pac-Man which has always been my favourite Pac-Man game and hours seem to pass when I'm alone with her! (Don't tell my girlfriend!!!) I'm sure no one needs a further explanation of this one. Pole Position is incredibly playable thanks to an ingenious control system whereby you twist the joystick in the direction you want to go rather than pushing it. I used to play the original arcade machine, so was delighted when I found this for sale. Lots of fun for the price of a meal and no food poisoning (although your fingers may ache a bit....)
It's a shame that it does not have an mains adaptor socket, as you occasionally find on these products. I use rechargables, which save me a fortune, although the manual recommends you don't. As long as you don't leave them in for an extended period, then you should be OK. Having to unscrew the battery compartment can be a pain if it is well used, but can understand why this is the case. Reset control is stupidly placed, have deprived myself of some high scores, so it loses a star for that(!). >>More Details |

I bought this for my wife as she loved Sonic and Alex the Kidd when she was younger.
She loves it! And I'm sure she'd give it a full 5 stars, it gets four stars from me though as even when the Megadrive was out I was still a ZX Spectrum kid at heart. If they ever bring out a ZX Spectrum version of these plug and play jobbies then I'll be ready to dish out five of those big boys. The music and the speed of gameplay is exactly how we remember it - this is a great gadget to kill some time with nostalgia! >>More Details |
