TomTom ONE v3 Great Britain
I bought my Son a Navman S30 which is excellent & was going to buy one for my self when Amazon had the Tom Tom V3 at only £75 so I of course went for that because after all they are reckoned to be the best arn't they !
Give me the Navman any day.
Don't get me wrong generally it is very efficent BUT for the following -
When you're approaching a junction where you need to turn left or right visually it gives you plenty of warning but sometimes the voice only pipes up and says "turn left" just as you're passing the turning ! Not good if you do not keep checking the visual display.
Whilst travelling on the M25 (for the first time) 4 times it went completely silent and ... Read More:

I think this is a great product. I have been using it in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, UK and Switzerland. Only one word: FANTASTIC.
I drove in Amsterdam, Segovia, Burgos, Madrid, Waterloo, the Val del Somme, Geneva, Zurich, Nize, Torino, London (I am foreign and London is really a pain)and Rome like a local, even I found cheaps hotels around!
Limitations: the conection which goes into the cigarrette light unscrew itself in the middle of the night (I had no idea this can happen and the pieces fell into the carpet I did not noticed) and I lost the power and luckily I found a petrol station to buy a map. Be careful as this things happens not only with Garmin but with others as well I have been told.
Sometimes gets silly, example going ... Read More:

This review applies to ALL TomTom units. Just like to let others know that, although I find the actual TomTom units very good,if you ever get a problem with your TomTom,your on your own. Their so called "Customer Service" is abysmal. If you manage to get through to them on the 'phone they are downright rude and will blame you for everything, never TomTom,the support on their website where you send them messages is just as bad,you may as well not bother,as you'll never hear back from them. You have been warned!!

I use the 305 to train my horse for endurance riding competitions - the combined GPS and heart rate monitor work perfectly and are around 4 times cheaper than the equivalent Polar unit. The heart rate belt is easy to fix to my horse - I just attach it to the inside of the girth, wet my horses skin and then use vetwrap to secure it in place and I get 100% accurate heart rate readings. The fact that the unit reads the heart rate wirelessly and has a good reception range makes it ideal (and easy) to adapt to equine use. I can track avaerage speeds and distances which when you ride solo is a great plus as it can be difficult to judge your pace. The virtual trainer is great for competitions as I can set my speed/distance parameters and instantly know when I'm falling ... Read More:

I bought this even though newer versions were available, of this and the equivalent Tomtom. I'm glad I saved £35! It does everything I need. Directions are good, as are the volume, route calculation time (a few seconds), re-calculation time, (if you miss your turn), notification of speed camera's, etc. You can find and download lots of extra points of interest onto the unit or onto an SD card. You will need the USB cable to download the software update, which is all very straight-forward. You can enter a post-code, town, street name, or my favourite: co-ordinates. I went on Google Earth, found the place I wanted on the map (a National Trust car park), and entered the co-ordinates from the map. The Nuvi took me right there. To be honest, when I was investigating which unit ... Read More:

I'm used to having a unit built-in to the car, but I wanted a SatNav for European & UK touring - contenders were Garmin Nuvi 760T, and its TomTom and viaMichelin equivalents. ViaMichelin went out of the SatNav business, so it was the (cheaper)Garmin. Once out of its box and charged, it needs to be connected to the internet and registered before you can do any updates or download speed camera data. It wouldn't talk to the Garmin website (talks to the PC ok), so on to tech support.... "Sometimes the registration software is flaky. I'll do it manually for you" Hmmm. Get an email telling me that its registered. Website says its not. Several times, over a couple of days. It's gone back for a refund.
Having read the reviews and seen the benefits of my friend's TomTom in France last year, I went for the Garmin, having read the reviews. Generally, I am very happy with the Garmin but, despite the settings being ok, it kept directing me on C roads between towns in France, when D roads are more suitable; for those unsure of C roads, they are basically a single lane country track, and there are quite a few tractors in France! Despite this, I am happy with the Garmin, although the 2008 European maps are not as up to date as my 2008 AA France road atlas.

I got this as a power charger solution mainly for my Creative Zen Vision M 30gb. Like a lot of things, finding accessories for the creatives is difficult since the market is swamped with ipods and everything seems to be geared towards these.
The powermonkey comes with an adapter for the zen, but it doesnt work due to not enough pins being present so this leads me to believe that adapter is to charge an ipod.
The accessories do include one which fits the sync adapter of the creative zen vision M (the white thing you use to charge it from mains) so it does work - so for those with the same mp3 player as me - this will work for it, you just need to carry the adapter around as the flat adapter doesnt have enough pins.
It is indeed usable straight from the box as it is fully charged. A few minutes for the once only connection to the satellites and it was ready to go. Nice to see a neat carry case included along with a USB lead and car lead both of which can be used to charge the unit so no need to buy any extras. The windscreen sucker works fine once you have cleaned the windscreen! Instructions are adequate but I went to the Garmin site and downloaded the manual (free) which tells you everything.
I have nothing but praise for this little wonder. Having heard bad things about Sat Navs in general, I have put off purchasing one but this is brilliant.
It includes UK maps only so if you are intending to use it then would advise you go for ones with extra maps but I only want it for the UK.

I have just got this from Amazon and I have to say its absolutely superb. I am quite new to running and with the warm summer months and the temptations of beer and bbqs my enthusiasm was starting to go South for the sport.
However I feel this gadget has salvaged matters. I think the key to the success of this is its simplicity, whilst like every piece of technology it has about a million functions, where this shines is that it does the basics very well.
Battery life is very good.
GPS is very good even in built up areas. (even got a signal walking around Tescos)
All seems very sturdy and water proof.
I think perhaps the best part of this however is the training log. I am using some software called "SportsTracks" and that is fantastic, it enables a 1 quick download straight ... Read More:
