Very good camera for the price, I was unsure whether the quality would be good but went ahead and bought it. Very glad i did as the quality is good enough for use on skype which was the main reason for purchase.I have yet to use the microphone as i have a seperate one. I have only given it four stars as the speed is slighty slow, so lips are never synched with sound but this doesnt matter much to me. the only major problem i had on installation was the software supplied when used created severe crackling and noise with any sounds even when the camera was off. This however, thankfully, can be resolved by right clicking on the icon in the task bar and clicking check for updates and downloading when prompted. After this I have had no further problems ... This webcam was installed using the supplied software in minutes on Windows Vista, totally trouble free.
The picture is amazing even at low resolutions and the sound quality is superb.
I can honestly say i have never seen anything as good in my life.
You get an online video tutorial and you are soon using the webcam and all its features.
Very easy to fit on your monitor with no chance of it falling off even if you tilt the screen. Looks like Logitech have listened to people and improved the product.
The Microsoft NX-6000 is good but this is even better.
An LED on the webcam shows you when it is active and you can adjust absolutely everything with the on screen software.
There is even a privacy screen with a ... Read More:

I recently bought this webcam. Set-up etc. reasonably straightforward, though lead is a bit too short to allow me to connect to the mic jackplug on the pc (on the floor by the side of my desk) and place the camera on top of the monitor. But as it happens this doesn't matter, as although the picture quality is pretty good, the mic is virtually useless and I have had to resort to a seperate mic. If I hadn't owned one, I would have returned the webcam. There is also quite a delay in the synchronisation of speech and lip movement ...though I think this may be a common problem with webcams in general. I'm sure there are better all round webcams for the price. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you just want decent visuals and sound is unimportant.

Having read a review I bought this to use with my laptop. It may have a built in microphone but I am unable to use it as when I have the USB lead plugged in one side of my laptop the microphone lead doesn't reach the socket the other side. No instructions come with this webcam, it assumes you know what you're doing. Although I'd read claims that it could be used without the driver software that came with it I couldn't get it to work at all without. The add ons that came on the CDROM didn't appear to recognise that I had the camera attached. Can't fault the supplier though they offered a full refund if I returned it.

I ordered my vx1000 from somewhere else but when you get the webcam pluged in and installed the drivers and such which is easy to setup and when you first use it the picture is fine however i have had mine for like a couple of months and from time to time the image quality would be a bit blurry and that i see the same result from my friend who has same webcam that i recommended but don't know when that happened anyways let this picture quality speak for it's self.

If i only knew about this i would not buy it but if you do you can expect good quality but for some reason the cam you could get could be like this.

The only good thing about it is the webcam works as a basic webcam.
The camera is ok when there a lot off light in the room but if it's slightly dark you can't see anything. If you're buying this for the video don't the video is very slow and the quality isn't that good.
The microphone is useless u can't hear anything. If you want to hear your voice you actually have to scream into the webcam.
I would recommend you spend a bit more money and get a better one.

The quality of this camera is great, and has been reviewed by others, but thought I'd add a comment to mention that it works - out of the box - with Ubuntu. No driver installation required, just plug it in and use it. Tested with Skype, X-lite and other video conferencing software.
I agree that installing the drivers on windows is a bit of a pain, but that's windows fault not the camera's, and Logitech go to great lengths to help you install it properly on Windows, so don't worry about it, just follow the instructions.
Would definitely recommend this camera, and all Logitech QuickCam Pro cameras for professional quality.

This is a cheap product and it feels it and the picture quality is bad and the software for it is absolutely minimal and only works for Skype. It won't work with all the other built in apps that use a webcam unless you purchase additional software.
Instead spend the extra and get a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Webcam, which gives a Hi-Def video quality, works with everything and needs no software, it works out of the box. Oh and the mic is excellent and is linked into a single USB connection to the Mac.
I am not sure when OS X included universal drivers for webcams but I am running 10.5 on both my Macs and they worked beautifully out of the box.
