Huge, heavy, noisy, regular paper jams and expensive to run. Lasted just over 1 year until it was out of warranty then locked up with a 'paper jam' error when there was no paper jam anywhere.. wish I had never bought it.

I ordered this printer from Amazon because I had a supply of cartridges which are suitable - x34 x35 etc. They delivered an X2650 which uses the new X14 and X15 cartridged which cannot as yet, or maybe never, be supplied as re-fills. So I am now left with cartridges I can't use. Please beware of this before you order. The replacement is a high spec printer but, as with all Lexmark printers, they are expensive to use which is why I wanted one which used re-fill cartridges.

The build quality is poor: especially the paper tray and the prop which holds up the hood of the machine when one needs to replace ink cartridges. Ink cartridge slots are colour marked and coordinate with the colour of the cartridges. Installation of the machine was far less than intuitive: I had lots of problems with the wireless aspect of the installation even though my access point is but inches away. I love the reliability, the wireless networking, the quality of print, and lots more.
The 28ppm print rate is a lie, it's more like 3ppm even for black text if you are on anything but draft mode - so slow I have had to upgrade to get a reasonable rate to be able to do my job.
So it is perfect if you are enjoying your retirement, anyone else needs to buy elsewhere. Of course, don't stick with it too late into your retirement or you might never see the output.

function set is impressive for the price, but it is a real pain to access all the settings, and a powercut will render them back to presets.
This is beyond annoying if you are prone to power cuts, as the presets tend to cut messages short. you also need to have a high quality adsl filter if you put this on a broadband line, otherwise it can cause all sorts of problems.
maybe I got a duff unit, but I have come close to throwing it out the window. technical helpline is of course outsourced and script driven leading to frustrating and expensive support.
only recommended if you like messing with complicated menu settings and live in an area with stable power supply
