this item does get worryingly hot , but seems to work fine , used for ages now , its travelled a lot , over 3000 miles with me , and works just as well on uk , or abroad voltage .
bought as replacement for little dell laptop , works fine ,it has a usb power port which worked out fine for supplying extra power to a card bus usb adaptor , so for this feature alone would highly recommend .

The review saying single link is the same as double link, is Rubbish.
I have a have a double link DVI cable, and it is not compatible with my monitor, because there are extra pins on the cable for which there are no holes in the monitor's socket. It's not this cable obviously, and it may not be a problem, since I'm not intending to use it on the monitor.
I know nothing about this particular single link cable, but beware that if you need single link, double link might not do.

This is a well made compact item which allows electrical items to be used all over the world. This is a much improved product compared with previous types I have used.

I moved back from the US to the UK with a lot of electrical equipment.
I purchased a few of these units.
Anything electrical , without a motor is generally okay.
If you're running, for example, a motor or a big amplifier, then do some more research to make sure that this is good enough.
I'm down to 2 having tried it with a couple of kitchen-based electrical items, and them hearing a pop, and then smelling burning.
It has uni-directional screws, so if you blow it, you blow it.
Do some internet research to ocnfirm your power requirement - not just the wattage.
If you work it out (I'm still uncertain), then you're on for a cheap winner.
The Maplin version is twice the price and exactly the same.

Wanted to buy 4 of these. Obviously 1p each seemed a bargain. However, the delivery charge (standard) was going to be £18!! What a rip off.

Amazon lists as a suggestion that you could buy an 8 GB SDHC card with this. Please be aware that this machine does not support this type of card. the maximum amount SD card it can take is 4 GB. Otherwise, it is a very good, functional netbook.

I bought this about a year ago and it's been faultless, the two directional sockets at the end of the switch are a big help for the bigger plugs, such as chargers and adapters. It also comes supplied with AV and telephone extension cables, which comes in handy.
The only reason I gave it 4, not 5 - out of 5 stars is for the simple matter of the switch! It's really, really easy to accidentally turn the power off with your foot, if the device lies under your desk (as it does with mine).
Apart from that, this is a faultless product, another fantastic item from the chaps at Belkin!
