I bought this camera in a sale. The video camera is ok but the microphone terrible. I prefer to use a headset and in order to do so had to disable the on camera microphone. You can find out how by going to Microsoft knowledgebase and putting in 'vx-3000 disable microphone'

Firstly service from Amazon was excellent.
Having read a few reviews of this item took the advice of installing the latest software version from the Logitech website rather than use the enclosed CD. Once software installed plugged in camera when instructed and waited a few minutes. As previously advised by other reviewers this does take a few minutes but just be patient. After this followed link to install Skype and was up and running in minutes. Camera and microphone quality both excellent. Relatives in New Zealand could even tell the colour of my baby son's eyes. Only negatives stand needs more base weight (will probably put some Playdough to sort this out) and clip for top of laptop pretty poor. >>More Details |

Its the first Webcam I've ever bought and I'm impressed. The software is easy to install and the webcam itself is really very simple to use.
I've used it to film myself playing, to then upload to YouTube, and at the price it does a great job. Allows you to add captions and a delay start/finish facilty of up to 1 minute. So if you have to allow time to walk from the computer to the Piano (as I do) you can set it to start filming 10 second after you click on start recording. This is the current solution for all of us Mac Pro users, after Apple' s decision to abandon iSight production. It' s expensive, however, compared to similar-spec' ed windows offerings - why are we mac users still expected to pay a premium over windows users for what seems to be just a good mainstream webcam? Works ok on the MacOSX, the sound quality is very good and the image quality that is possible with this cam could be very good too, but: Skype drives the cam in a lower resolution and frame rate than the windows version does, and similar comments apply to PhotoBooth (lower than possible resolution and poor auto focus handling). I installed this webcam with the latest software (version 11.5) and found that it periodically crashed my PC. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software a couple of times since following instructions received from Logitech support but to no avail. They are now suggesting I install an older version of the software (v11.1). I am inclined to give it up as a bad job.

I bought this based on reviews on Amazon. I guess the others have had a good experience but mine has been awful. I have worked in IT and with comp[uters for over ten years and know what to expect. This device has worked and can work but will stop working sporadically. Sometime the webcam will work, sometimes the microphone will work but rarely both. A search for latest drivers will produce a message "no drivers available" but when you search on the logitech site you find updated drivers. But these don't help. I will be getting another webcam, different brand.

this little camera looks really good in black chrome has an auto night sensing light mode and has a mic! what more can u ask for in under 6 pounds! the clip is great to attach to top of laptop screen. the camera can swivel in almost any direction! and if you want it can be stuck to a wall.
also i had no problemns installing the drivers for this cammera. i had read the reviews on amazon before buying the item and as some had said before plugged in the camera and let the computer search for drivers it self! THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME. i installed both the utility and the direct x that came on the cd. the camera detected the drivers and i was up and running no proble. quite east to install. i am using xp though! this may be the reason why it was relatively ...
