I bought this a while back and have been very pleased since the day I received it. This cam offers everything that you could want in a cam for the price you pay. The quality of the video and the built in mic' is excellent and well worth the money.

Based upon the previous review I purchased my first web cam. I am not disapointed! Installation via the CD (I felt I would allow the CD to install the software initially) was simplicity, once I had switched of my Norton firewall as instructed. Set up was idiot proof and so simple. Quality of the cam is superb! I expected delay and jumpy images, but it is almost real time! Sharpness, colour and clarity including depth of field is no les than superb!. The built in Mic' works very well and is crystal clear in reproduction. Of course there are a multiplicity of settings for all of the above criteria should they be required. The stand is or can be useful to raise the (Ziess) lens from desktop level to face level ( one can also set the cam to follow ... Read More:

I bought this as it looked a very good value webcam. But unfortunately it looks like I got what I paid for.
As another reviewer has noted, installation was painful. I just dumped the CD in the bin, as it just couldn't be read by the computer, and grabbed the installation files from the Logitech website. However, this wasn't straightforward, as it wasn't clear which model I had, and had to download a couple of install packages before I got the right one. When I did get it working, I was very disappointed in the quality. Under optimal light conditions, the picture is pretty grainy, and quite choppy. My son went to uni recently hence I bought two these De Luxe web cams with headset. It installed on both Dell notebooks without a hitch: one XP Pro the other one VISTA business. We have since had a family conrerence session almost everyday and resolution, motion etc are handeled brilliantly. The Right Sight and Sound also enhances the experience.

This is the first time I have bought a webcam, which I wanted to use to try making video calls using my laptop. I didn't want to buy the cheapest camera but didn't want to invest too much either since I'm learning how to do this stuff; so this midrange camera seemed like a good choice.
The camera is very handy and I think the image quality is good. It is tiny (about 3cm by 6cm) and comes with a small pouch so it is protected when you pack it away with your other laptop stuff. The camera has a manual focusing ring which you have to turn so the image is nice and sharp - this worked well. (The clip is good for a laptop screen but I think it would be a bit too narrow for a flat desktop monitor, for which I would recommend the Logitech QuickCam Communicate ... I like the look of this web cam. (Finding anything that is not coloured black is like gold dust these days).
I also like the fact that you can point the camera downwards for privacy (which also turns the unit off). So many web cams don't have such a facility, or even a lens cap. However, despite the claims of this web cam not needing drivers, it doesn't work on Windows 2000 making the unit absolutely useless to me. It does however work in Linux (Ubuntu) although the picture quality was terrible. >>More Details |

I bought this a while back as it states it works on mac mini. It does, but it involves downloading external drivers that take a long time to find on your own, and even then it only works on one or two programs. None of these are skype. In fact, it is so non-compatible with skype that every time \i try to make a call with it plugged in, skype crashes. I sent skype all the details of what happened, including all of the code and terminal readings generated on my computer... and after well over a month or maybe even two... they haven't figured out why it won't work.
