i bought this webcam and have not been able to install it on my pc. the cd-rom that came with it is for mac os despite the box and decription saying it was for windows xp etc. so not much use to me:(

Bought two of these for use on Vista OS with Skype. Software appears to clash with sound card ( it disabled the speakers until it was removed!). Logitech support section on its website useless. Spent hours getting the camera and built in microphone to work. When eventually working, picture and sound both good but too much effort is needed to get there, ended up returning them both & buying Philips webcams which had none of these set up problems.
If these cameras are meant to be a mass market product Logitech needs to improve the 'out of box experience' for its customers. Despite promises of a secure stand that can be used with desktop monitors or laptops I was not able to get the camera to fit securely anywhere. The hinge on the stand was loose and the weight of the cable was enough to move it.
From my limited use the picture quality seemed to be very good and responded well to varying light levels. The sound quality from the microphone was adequate though not exceptional. However after a couple of days I became so frustrated with the useless stand that I returned it to Amazon for a refund. >>More Details |

This camera was fantastic, comes in a box much larger than necessary, but after investing a bit more money than usual i was pleasantly surprised at the quality, 30 frames per second and 2mpx film, with 8mpx camera. it is a fantastic product, works well with SKYPE and MSN.
After removing the packaging i just plugged it in and installed the software, the software is not necessary but you should install the latest driver software and make any updates. >>More Details |

The only good thing about it is the webcam works as a basic webcam.
The camera is ok when there a lot off light in the room but if it's slightly dark you can't see anything. If you're buying this for the video don't the video is very slow and the quality isn't that good. The microphone is useless u can't hear anything. If you want to hear your voice you actually have to scream into the webcam. I would recommend you spend a bit more money and get a better one. >>More Details |
