This camera is a bargain. A reliable company - Samsung- with a camera with good specs of 10mega pixel and 3X optical zoom. The interface is very good and user friendly. It can be kept it auto mode and function very well no matter the environment it is shooting in. However,you can easily tweak the modes yourself for even better shots. The dial on the top keeps in the main modes and the turn of it shows what you select on screen with minimal effort. It doesn't look bad either!!
For £70 this is a bargain, and am well pleased I have one!! >>More Details |

What I like about the camera is:
- it's very compact and easy to carry about - the metallic finish makes it feel solid and durable - the image quality is not bad, probably what would be expected from any typical 8MP - the camera menu is fairly easy to use, less confusing than other cameras I have used in the past The only thing I find that isn't ideal is the LCD screen which is not the brightest around so it is a bit difficult using it in bright (sunny) conditions. This is probably deliberate from Sony to improve the battery life which is satisfactory (so far). Overall, it's certainly good value considering the price and features that go along with it. Not a bad camera, but I think Sony could have done better...
The stills are pretty good, they do have some graininess indoors, even at a fairly low ISO (200) and you have to go down to ISO 100 with flash or really good light if you want noise-free pics. Also, the SL option on the flash gives quite poor pictures indoors with subjects closer to the camera really blurred even with face recognition turned off (whereas my old Cyber-Shot P200 actually gave better indoor stills with this option enabled, good detail, good focus) so you need to use normal or red-eye reduction flash. You can change the flash intensity when using the "P" mode for shooting and also the auto focus options (change to multi rather than spot or center) ... Read More: >>More Details |

Paid £70 a couple of months ago from Amazon. Good value camera for the money, takes excellent pics and video but can only use standard batts which don't last that long.Say 20 to 50 pics depending. Can't use rechargeables.

i bought this camera from Amazon on November last year. It works quite well but I am not totally pleased with 230£ I had paid for as you cant zoom when you record a video.
with 12mp and some other stuffs but I can see this camera is not much better than the others which less pixel and less money. Anyhow, so far so good, the len works properly unlike other reviews >>More Details |

What a fantastic camera for the price.
Easy to use. Small. Sleek. Clear large screen. Good battery life. Video facility gives excellent results. Memory card too small. Buy larger memory separately. I've had this camera for about six months now and taken thousands of shots. A good basis for a review I would have thought !
In a few words,the Fuji Finepix S5800 is an absolute cracker ! I've just this very weekend filled up two SD cards full of mountain shots taken in the Lake District and I have to say,they are probably the best outdoor photographs I've ever taken. I also took some video footage which although not as sharply defined when viewed on a full screen,is quite acceptable. The camera offers a multitude of shooting variables including manual over-ride although I generally just use the Auto/landscape/portrait in natural light and movie. when the camera arrived, it took me about 10 minutes to get familiar with the settings and features. menus and buttons are set out logically. then i tried it all out with photos of my children, flowers (testing the macro), landscapes, sunsets... i am very impressed with the results. it's a robust camera which is easy to hold and the quality of the photos is superb, even with zoom. the movie mode produces good video files. i am looking forward to using the camera at christmas and on days out. i also bought an 8GB SD card and fujifilm leather bag from amazon and they are great accessories for this camera.
