Not much you can say about a power cell unless you discover your purchase is a dud.
What you want to know is that this performs every bit as well as the "real" thing. I am running a 350D set up and this drives the shutter, motor function (sport mode) as well as integral flash (rarely used apart from this test) easily. You absolutely do need a second battery for your camera if you are at all serious about photography. I bought the Canon Ixus 500 and this battery as a spare. I wouldn't be without it.
Basically its essential. This one (identical to the one supplied with the camera) is reliable, fast to charge, and lasts a couple of days (or 100 or so photos) in my experience.
Its not exciting, but it is worth the 30 quid or so.
