I have a few Hama filters, they have all been well built and do what they are designed for.
This one is no exception. well designed so that it fits perfectly over the front of the lens, it offers good optically performance and protection against accidental damage. in fact, i think i got this to replace a damaged filter or this was the one i damaged, one or the other. but my lens that was attached at the time is still working, as was my camera. the filter was broken to bits, but it did it's job well! well worth the sacrifice, sorry price. It's tempting to go for the cheapest filter when all you want to do is protect your lens with a clear piece of glass, but mine shattered when I put my camera bag on the floor a bit too heavily, leaving tiny grains of glass all over the lens. It's hard to tell whether the filter was too delicate or I was too clumsy, but I'm going to spend a bit more this time.
