Have tried a few of the recipes now & genuinely don't see what all the fuss is about. All the recipes I've tried are pretty bland & certainly not worth the mess or effort put in, there are other recipes which look pretty good but I think I'm going to sell the book now, since they probably arn't as good as they sound (Apparently the Taiwanese style steak is irresisitable, I just found it spicy but bland).
Not recommended, though my book will be going on sale now for a good price.

We went to the East Midland Food show this year where Anjum was doing cookery demonstrations. She is passionate about her cooking and explains her methods and ingredients simply and effectively.
I've made a few of the dishes in here and found inspiration for some of my own based around the core recipes in this book. I'd recommend the yogurt based curry - very healthy with little fat or oil and very tasty. A winner with all the family.

Nigella does it again. She writes great recipes with such relish and personality to her writing.
I just love her mince pie recipes, the pastry is just superb!!!
Also try the Rocky Road recipe, I have tried this from her Nigella Express book but the Xmas recipe for this is even richer!!
Sound good recipes, tested and tried out. Great artwork and illustrations, for me it is the best Christmas recipe book I have to date!!

This is a great book, with some lovely ideas. I particularly enjoyed making the desserts. Kids food is good, as is the bbq section. The only problem i found was that there was rather a lot of seafood, which i dont like. but that's a personal issue, not a fault of the book!! i do like good hearty meals though, so maybe healthy options wasnt the book for me, assome of the recipes obviously arent as hearty as i would have liked.
Good book though, am pleased that Gordon's creating recipes that are healthier, as usual his recipes have lots of ingredients and are very rich and unhealthy!!

I've watched the TV series with interest so I thought I'd take the plunge and buy Anjums new book. There are a lot of new recipes I've not heard of before in here but the first one I tried was the good old vindaloo. I was a little skeptical because there didn't seem to be a lot of ingredients but as it turned out it made a delicious curry. These proberbly aren't pure authentic Indian recipes but that's not what the book is claiming, after all the series is called Indian food made easy.
I've bought several so called Indian cook books that failed to deliver but this is not one of them. I'm definately going to be hunting out other books by the same author

What a brilliant and talented man. His dishes are easy to make and the good thing about all of the dishes in the book is that you can get the ingredients even in your local supermarket, if you have no good markets near you. The recipies when cooked taste like your mum's, grandmother's and if you lucky to have tasted ypur great granny's cooking then its like a blast from the past on your taste buds.
For All those young and old fellow british caribbeans that have lost the way and art of cooking due to whatever reasons, will find their way inside levi Roots Reggae Reggae Cookbook.
This is probably one of the best caribbean cook books out, and is far from intimidating as many other books can be.
It's absolutely a great book; A must buy.

Jamie's Ministry of Food is a book teaching you how to cook. I really enjoyed it and have started to cook by myself as well. It changed me a lot, especially for the one who rarely cook by herself. and it is easy to learn too, I never thought cooking could be that easy and enjoyable. Now I love cooking, and by watching all the dishes I finished, I'm so proud.

This is such a good book, although quite small it is packed with recipes! As it says they are just one pot recipes so throw everything in and leave to cook. There's some really good ideas in here and the dessert section is great too.

This is a fantastic little book if you want ideas for rustic and seasonal foods. The complaints about not having certain recipes that were in the programme is kinda silly. If you were just interested in 2 recipes why buy the whole book?
If you like to friends coming over for a nice pot of something or to impress somebody with a lovely duck breast, this book is worth purchasing. The recipes are not complicated, although there are certain aspects you must follow to achieve the climax you want.
