This will satisfy fans of the series but there isn't really any story progression - paolini dwells more on character development and past events before eragorn was born. Although this extra background information helps add to the story and readers find out more about lesser characters, I couldn't help but be underwhelmed by the lack of action that you would expect from a fantasy story about dragons, especially after the last two books.

Pratchett's books for young people have a tendency to reach beyond the intended age group and are just as enjoyable and relevant for adults. His latest novel, "Nation", is no exception. Anybody who has read his Tiffany Aching books will also know that Pratchett also has a fondness for headstrong young girls, delighting in exemplifying how they grow more or less smoothly into maturity. In this delightful novel Daphne, or Ermintrude as she was named by her family, is another example. Just for the pleasure of meeting her, the book would be worth reading... but there is so much more to explore here.
Thirteen-year-old Daphne is pretty, smart and well-educated, and loved by her aristocratic father. After the death of her mother, she was ... Read More:

The first thing that I have to say is that this isn't a great movie, not by a long way. It's too long, boring in parts and I had the same problem that I had with the first film in the series.Namely, three of the four children are a charmless bunch bereft of any personality.Apart from Georgie Henley that is who plays Lucy. She gave the best performance in the first film and is also the best thing about 'Prince Caspian'.As the Prince,Ben Barnes certainly looks the part but his accent varies between Spanish,French and Scottish.I also felt that this film was aimed directly at the children's market.
So why have I given it a reasonable three stars?I was toying with giving it two but in fairness it does look great and some of the CGI is very well done.I ... Read More:

I just finished reading Artemis Fowl and The Time Paradox and I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed it. It's difficult to sustain a series without it getting old and repetitive, but I think Colfer has managed it. Maybe it's because it's been a while since the last in the series came out, I don't know, but I loved it. I was gripped by the action while still learning new things about the characters and having a laugh along the way as well. Bring on the next one!

I've read both these books and I have a bit of an obsession about the series. I got the books separately but I like the design of this set. The books are very enjoyable, very brief that adds to their charm.
I hope someday the "Half-Blood Princes potion book" becomes available.

Every new series of Doctor Who brings a new gripping story line, new characters, and another goodbye... and series four is no different.
The series starts of with the Doctor and Donna trying to crack the mystery around Adipose Industries but never quite meeting, always just missing each other, but finally they meet, and after narrowly escaping Miss Foster they decide to take her down.
The series just gets better from then on, with some old enemes, such as the sontarans, the ood, and daleks, and new enemies like Vespiforms, Vasta Nerada, and the Pyroviles. Not only does he meet and greet old enemies he reunites with old companions and meets a few new ones on the way.
Series Four will see the return of the Doctor (David Tennant), Donna Noble (Catherine ... Read More:

While I was never a fan of the Science of Discworld series, I picked this one up since it seemed to approach things from an interesting new angle. I'm certainly not disappointed - there is a whole gamut of folklore covered within, showing the links and relationships between Discworld and the Earth. It's very well written, and flows like fine honey!
However...
There isn't an awful lot of 'meat' to a lot of the content. It's very much a case of 'Here's a thing from Discworld, and here's it's real world equivalent.', and then after a paragraph or so it moved on to the next thing. I would have liked it to be a bit more in-depth, but there is a bibliography provided at the end that helps flesh out the detail.
Could the movie live up to the hype? Most definitely. Buy this film if only to see Heath Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch-enemy the Joker. His performance is worth the cost of the blu-ray alone. I always though that Jack Nicholson's performance would set the standard, but Heath Ledger's Joker knocks that into a hat.
This is a continuance of the Dark Knight created originally by Bob Kane and later re-invented by Frank Miller. Batman ain't Mr NIce Guy and nor should he be. In fact Batman comes across as harder and possibly mentally unstable but then again to wear latex and a cape you have to be a bit mad.
If I found one fault in the film, it would be that it is too long. I would have rather this had been extended and made in too parts like Kill Bill. That worked so well ... Read More:

Well, while blu ray experience and especially watcjing on 7.1 channel is wonderful but alas, PLOT is terribly confused. It doesn't make sense at all, but cinematography is gorgeous. In next 6 months, it will be available for less than £ 10.
