I just love this book. The photography is wonderful and the recipe's work brilliantly. It is a book that I return to for solid recipes for special occasions. Definitely one of my favourites.

It's my first Nigella's book and it's truly wonderful. Easy to make and follow recipes and beautiful pictures. Not to mention her enchanting writing style.
So far I have tried couple of recipes and they all have turned out great.
One thing which I'd complain about a little, Nigella doesn't really season her meat but adding salt and pepper is my contribution to the recipes :).
This is the book when you want to fix something yummie for dinner but you're running out of time.

This is a lovely book with not only amazing, easy recipes but information on how to grow the ingredients. It is the book of recipes done on the T.V show which I also really enjoyed.
I recently made the steak, guinness and chedder pie and it was out of this world!

This book has made me start to enjoy cooking! No longer the look of bewilderment when trying to cook a decent meal. The instructions are easy to follow, the pictures are a boost! I have her other book, Indian every day which does not have as many photos of the final result.
I have also had great service from shopping with the online retailers for all the ingredients. So simple. The resulting food is truly delicious. Such delicate and yet again tasteful flavours. I can not recommend enough

I have to say that this is the first ever cookbook I've owned & was inspired by watching Gordon on The F Word. It's pretty good, although it isn't my most used cookbook in truth (bit too much fish for my liking. Worth a look though, but if you're looking for more inspired recipes, I'd look elsewhere in my humble opinion.
I'd give it an 8 out of 10 (I do quite like Gordon, but since I've got into cooking properly, I've realised he's not quite as good as I thought he was).

There's no greater way to inspire the wanton traveller than books about the places he wishes to visit. I came across this book at the exact time I began planning an upcoming trip around the med.
I've been engrossing myself in Mediterranean cooking for some years now, and wanted to expand my culinary knowledge of the area. While I don't watch much TV, I am well aware of Rick Stein's reputation and capabilities, but am simply in awe of the attitude he takes to food.
Every recipe is introduced by the story of its origin or how he discovered it, introducing the local people who create them, and even the history of the dish. The Med is a very diverse area covering parts of Europe, North Africa and the Middle-east, so the diversity ... Read More:

A lot of the recipes can be got from the web but for the pictures and the recipes themselves buy yourself the book (or better still, buy for he/she who lurks in the kitchen area). The chocolate brownie recipe is a personal favourite featuring their inspired use of raspberries and (as they keep for ages) you don't really have to share them with anyone else.

Quite simply the most delicious culinary book I have seen or read in ages. The photography is sublime, the content supreme and the whole read a pleasure. If the photography doesn't have you reaching for the pots and pans, nothing will. However the pleasure is complete when attempting the recipes which are well laid out, easy to follow and really make one feel that even a mere amateur, can, with guts and determination achieve culinary perfection by following the pages. Having read Gordon's biographies and been a keen follower of his tv shows (both good and bad), this motor mouthed chef definitely has something unique aside from his distinctly flowery language. Determination, skill beyond compare and the ability to instill in others, the same driving force that ... Read More:

First saw this cookbook in my sister's house and asked her to photocopy me a few recipes so I could try them...by the end of the week I'd cooked them all so decided to buy it for myself! We both cooked a three-course meal from this book for our other halves and it was empty plates all round - a good sign that this is tasty food that just happens to be healthy!I've made about 20 things so far and they've all been gorgeous. None of it is rocket science, just simple substitutions and hints for food you would make every day. Carbonara is one of my husband's favourite dinners and now he prefers this version.
Examples of recipes are:
Boursin,pancetta and chive omelette
Sundried tomato and black olive dip
Chicken Caesar salad with Melba ... Read More:

I have admired Marcus Wareing as a chef from taking over at the Savoy Grill and Petrus. He was also exposed to a wider audience during the Great British Menu series for the Queen's birthday.
But for this book I agree that we needed a return to basic about things in some ways and the writing style here is not patronising and the illustrations are very helpful. What makes this book different is the 'All is not lost' section so that if you do end up overpoaching at egg, undercook pork or fish, then he puts together recipes or tips which are speedy and life saving in situations that you could imagine you would need a quick resolution like a dinner party you're cooking for with people who's opinions matter to you. I have nabbed this book from my mother ... Read More:
