Although thorough, sometimes whilst setting out to be unambiguous it actually ends up being confusing. For example, certain definitions are used as if they were common everyday terms of which people already have a clear understanding; for instance, it uses 'STOP', 'WAIT' and 'PARK' without offering a clear explanation as to the subtle differences in these terms. Also some rules seem to be a bit of a Catch-22 situation: how can ANY vehicle load or unload in a Bus Lane without first being able to drive in one (an act which is forbidden unless otherwise permitted by the sign).
It gets 3 stars though as on the whole it is quite complete and the examples, where given, are good.

I bought this latest book to prepare my theory test, I studied the Highway Code first and then I did all the practices on the book. And I had full marks on my theory test, thanks to this book. The content is brilliant, however, I think the design is so so, they could do better.
If you want to pass your test, buy this book and of course you have to study hard, then you should have no problem at all.

This is such a GOOD read! I completely understand everything about signs now! It makes it so simple and easy to understand! I truly recommend this to anyone who has a passion for road signs! I almost had a tear in my eye at the end as I finally passed my driving test after 8 fails! Great for bedtime reading and the best book you'll find in years! Thank you!

I am a driving instructor and I insist that all my pupils get and use this book. If you have been driving for years you should read through it to see just how many things have changed but especially read Chapter 10 - Defensive Driving. If most people drove this way all the time there would be far fewer deaths and injuries on the roads!
If you are a learner driver or intending to start learning grab it now if you don't have it and treat it as your bible for learning to pass your test and continuing on to a life of safe driving. Read up on the topic you are going to cover with your instructor before the next lesson and you will be amazed at how much more you get from the time with your instructor. That's what I call great value for ... Read More:

Just to let you know that this is the best DVD on the market for the theory test. It is easy to use and is like having a virtual tutor. I am a driving instructor so have viewed loads of different DVD's. Just writing this really to advise you that the DSA question bank changes every September so all theory products prior to September 1st 2008 will be out of date by then. Any products you buy for the theory need to be 2008/2009. Not much will change but if you are paying top price then buy up to date stuff.
Thats all - hope it helps you decide.

I was fortunate enough to be lent this DVD and in conjunction with the Theory CD passed my theory test first time around. That said, I am learning to ride a motorcycle as an experienced driver. The DVD progressively explains Hazards with a gradual emphasis on differentiating static hazards from Developing ones (ie ones which absolutely force a driver/rider to change speed or direction). This much is fairly obvious. I think to fully grasp the material it is worthwhile viewing 3 or 4 times to pick up on the subtleties and in spite of the narrators explaining that there is no benefit in resitting the example tests, I think it all reinforces the learning process so I would disagree.

Reading this book I was astonished at how clearly the points were made and how easy they were to understand. All the points made in this light, handy little book are important to motorists and padestrians alike. You can fit it into just about any nook and cranny so it is useful to keep it in jour glove box. I have read it through a few times now and I loved the diagrams as they make understanding the points a great deal easier. This book really could save your life, and it`s definatley not something you`ll want to go without weather you`r approaching an accident or trying to get to sleep. The main thing about this book is that it makes things in clear points which you can apply to nearly every minute of your time outside your door. If you haven`t allready got this ... Read More:
