I ordered four vegan cookbooks from this author (Italian, Mexican, Indian, Caribbean). I hate them all. First off, they are small and contain few recipes. Half the recipes they contain are for items I either wouldn't cook from scratch (tortilla's) or are so basic they are found in every other cookbook on my shelf (tomato sauce).
Next, the books are from the UK so you better know how much a dessertspoon is, what "hard vegan cheese" is, as well as know what an aubergine or courgette is. There is no glossary or nutritional information given in any of the books for any of the recipes.
But by far, the most irritating feature of this author and her books is her love of nuts. No matter what cuisine the book is suppose to be about, the ... Read More:

I collect cookbooks and am always looking for ways to cook vegan without hassle. Practical ideas are available in this cookbook. They give the cook several options of ingredients in almost every recipe, whick I like.
It tells you easy ways to go camping, hiking or if your fridge is somewhat bare. You don't need to go out and buy a lot of weird ingredients or spices to enjoy this cookbook and for the newby Vegan, it has made the change over simple for me.

Dan Vishny has written a very humorous book on being a vegan but their our some serious side effects. Ted Smigielski, the Polish nutritionist and caterer of Ed's Hot Lunch, has seen some of the serious side effects of those who have followed the Vishny plan. He has witnessed the formation of a "Chicken chest", a pectoral region with no muscle at all. This condition is not only unflattering but also unhealthy as those inflicted have little strength in the area.

This book is for fast vegan food that is not full of fat. There are many cookbooks that have wonderful fatty vegan foods. The food in this book is quick and filling. Everything I have made is good. A few are ok. But, all I have made is filling. I am not left hungry. The Spicy Mandarin Chickpeas recipe I make weekly. The only change I made was to sub blackberry jam for strawberry jam. Other recipes you can just add more spices. I find it helpful to have a heathy quick vegan cookbook.

I had never heard of this cookbook until I stumbled across it at my local library. Having read it, I'm surprised that isn't more widely known and used. Every recipe I tried worked as promised (that doesn't happen too often) and was delicious (that's even rarer). Even better, she doesn't focus on one course- soups, dinner, desserts- or even just the food you're going to eat. She offers recipes for everything from breakfast to dinner, desserts to vegan kitchen staples.
Because of this book, I was inspired to make soy yogurt- no problem. And once you have soy yogurt, you have the making for soy sour cream- strain the yogurt as you would dairy yogurt. Save the whey, and then use it for your breads. Because of this book, I have also been ... Read More:

This book was very disappointing because it used a lot of terms which
were not defined. Also it used inappropriate measurements based on
the metric system or used ounces & pounds instead of cups,& tablespoons.
I'm looking for another book based on the American vegan experience!
