This is a wonderful resource for strictly vegetarian families or families with vegan children. This book is very informative and even has great vegan recipes to offer. However,I should agree with users who suggest that the title of this book should rather be "Raising vegan children". The item arrived very fast and in superb condition.

What, No Meat?!: What to Do When Your Kid Becomes a Vegetarian
I love this book b/c it's easy to read and understand. THe menus and recipes are simple as well - although I wish there were more! It's a great book for new vegetarians and their meat-eating parents. It's also good for vegetarian parents who are not exactly sure about nutritional values.

Anything that can help a parent is a great resource to have nearby! I like the sections on quick meals for working families and alternative Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations. Very interesting!
Also, the interviews with vegetarian parents are a great sharing of information and experience.

I expected more information on vegetarian nutrition & recipes. Though this book presents some of the social obstacles of a living as a vegetarian with children, it offers little in the way of solutions to obstacles - just "arguments" for "defending" vegetarianism. If you wish to argue & defend, you should read this book. Education & information about sound vegetarian nutrition and reasons for living a peaceful vegetarian lifestyle are much better to help justify choices than the information that this book offers.

I got this book when my son was about 8 months old. He may not be typical, but by 9 months old he insisted on feeding himself rather than eat things offered on a spoon. The recipes in the 8-18 month chapter of this book are mostly soft, spoon-offered dishes which didn't get past his lips too often.
HOWEVER, the 18 month and beyond chapter is a real winner. Some of these dishes are so tasty I've served them to guests!
